The popularity of Burnham-on-Sea as a seaside resort attracts thousands of tourists from all across England. Burnham is located in Somerset with close proximity of the River Parrett. The popularity of the town became a major factor in the expansion of its population and today almost twenty thousand people reside in Burnham-on-Sea.
Burnham is located in the South West of England which makes its climate a bit milder than all other English towns. First couple of months of the year are the coldest ones especially in January temperature drops to 1 o.C.
Some of the most remarkable Lighthouses can be found in Burnham. The proximity to the River Parrett made it mandatory for the government officials to construct lighthouses at many places. The lighthouses went through many architectural modifications and those with an interest in the architecture have many lighthouses to explore in this town.
Several different religious buildings dominate the skyline of the town. St Andrew's Church dates back to the 14th century which is a very well preserved parish church. The high tower of the church is visible from a distance and truly is an architectural masterpiece. The church holds many historical relics of the town and many easily available local guides throw light on the importance and context of this religious building.
One of the marvels of this town includes a 900-foot pier which was built in the mid nineteenth century. Although it is not commercially functional nowadays but still the place is open for the visitors.
