Located just about 31 miles southwest of London is the town of Camberley Surrey. Settled in the early 19th century the town is relatively young compared to some of its neighbors. The town is known for being mentioned in the black-and-white movie Lord of the Flies. Even though the town is relatively young its population has taken off and is now large enough that some consider Yorktown to be a part of Camberley.
One of the things that area is known for is the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. Even though the academy isn't located in Camberley there is a Royal Logistics Corps Museum. Located in the Princess Royal Barracks this is the regimental museum for the Royal Logistic Corps. Visitors can view the three key collections in the archives: the Board of Ordinance, the Royal Army Service Corps write ups, and the Military Vehicle Records. They can also see artifacts from the Royal Pioneer Corps and the Royal Engineers. This exciting museum is a must stop for those who are into military history.
Another popular museum to visit is the Surrey Heath Museum. Visitors to this area can learn the history of the heathland. There are many different exhibits to view during your visit. Many of the exhibitions rotate out to make room for new ones. There are exhibitions for not only adults but children as well.
The local theatre is also a place of great entertainment. With a variety of different types of shows you can pick and choose what you want to see. From comedy to drama with a few children's shows mixed in, it is truly something for everyone.
