Once known for its farming and fishing industries the town of Sheringham. Today the farming town is known best for being a seaside resort. This popular tourist stop is known now for its beautiful beaches and maritime adventures and other attractions.

Who doesn't love the beach? Sheringham has several beaches to enjoy if you are looking to sunbathe or play in the sand. If you want to splash in the water it is suggested that you stick to the shallower waters. There are rules posted on the beaches to alert you to how far you should venture into the waters. There are lifeguards on duty for extra safety and they can help you to ensure that you don't go out to far.

There are other maritime activities to enjoy. You can charter a boat to go fishing or if you are interested in boats take a trip to the lifeboat museum. Here you will learn about the history of the various lifeboats and see many boats that were used in actual rescues, fully restored to their original beauty. These boats have been restored by volunteers versus paid professionals, so you can enjoy not only the history of the lifeboats in the museum you can also enjoy the beauty and talent of the local boaters.

Shoppers will enjoy visiting Sheringham. Here they will be sure to pick up something unique to the area. Sheringham is devoid of large chains and name brand stores. There is only locally own stores which will ensure that you will find just what you're looking for in that special souvenir.

Visitors to Sheringham can also enjoy the Prior Maze and Garden. This popular and beautiful outdoor spot actually consists of ten different gardens. Visitors can enjoy roaming through the garden grounds and seeing the different types of plants and flowers in the various gardens. For those who want a little more adventure to their nature journey then there are two mazes that you can try to find your way through. One of the mazes is the Christmas Tree Maze. This maze is made out of trees used for Christmas trees, after harvesting some of these trees the maze was left. Many of these trees have grown so much that it is as though you are wandering through a tunnel of trees. The other maze was made as a representation of the Beeston Prior, which is now in ruins. Following that same guideline and using the beautiful Copper Beech as the walls there is an intersperse of Green Hornbeam. Wandering the "ruins" can make for an enjoyable afternoon.

Sea, sun, and nature make Sheringham a popular tourist stop.
