The small town of Fowey is a well known cargo port of English county Cornwall. With a population of just over two thousand, Fowey is a marvellous civil parish near the river Fowey.

Several religious buildings in the town make it an interesting place for the English history buffs. The local legend has it that Jesus Christ once visited this small town. Numerous accounts of his arrival are popular in Fowey. There is even a cross that local people have erected to honour this supposed stay of Jesus. Early history of the town confirms the cultural value of this cross and people have utmost veneration for this local legend. Along the harbour there is a historical place known in the academic circles as Johnny May's Cross which is believed to be related with the Non-conformist persecution in this area.

Fowey is culturally rich with all the English life traits. The Fowey Fringe Festival is an innovative musical festival. The real venue of this festival is not any central place but it is celebrated all across the pubs, clubs, streets and restaurants.

St. Catherine's Castle which is now only visible through its ruins provides ample information about Fowey history and the town's significance in the middle Ages. Moreover the town provides opportunity to enjoy the pleasures of the beach; Readymoney Cove is a well maintained place to spend a whole day at the beach. You can traverse the port which always remains busy throughout the year. Apart from its trading significance the port is a hotspot for the tourists as well.
