The burg of Blairgowrie is often mentioned in the same breath as Rattray because they are twin cities. Don't make the mistake of saying this to a local, though, because there they simply call the whole area "Blair". The reason for the brevity must have something to do with the fact that the area is so beautiful that most people don't bother speaking, as if dialogue disrupts the connection between eyes and earth. On the other hand, it could just be laziness. Either way, many tourists pass through Blair on their way to places like Loch Ness or other Scottish treasures. Blair is itself a worthy tourist destination, though, and its picturesque appearance often attracts painters, writers, and musicians, all seeking their muses with the tenacity of hound dogs amidst the gorgeous landscape.

It isn't just poets and pirates that come to Blair, though. The town is also extremely popular among skiers who revel in the exciting slopes that can be found in the surrounding area. For this reason Blairgowrie offers an astonishing array of hotels that cater to all kinds of different needs. The best part about this is that many of the hotels are extremely affordable compared to other locations. Many skiers love the Bridge of Cally Hotel and find it to be one of the most friendly and accommodating locations in Scotland. Those looking to explore the town usually go for a downtown location such as the Royal Hotel.

Curiously, though, the biggest appeal of Blairgowrie seems to be the berries that the city grows in its various vine orchards. Some of the finest berries in the United Kingdom are grown in the city and visitors simply love walking around the enormous gardens that provide the healthy and delicious fruits. Blair is quickly gaining a reputation for this and their whole overall food offerings within the city. Many publications consider the city to have some of the finest food in all of Scotland and the restaurants are positively making a killing, with some guests traveling from another county simply to try the local cuisine. As if to make this point even more known, Blair is associating itself with berries in a big way by making logos with their names emblazoned upon a blackberry. The website for the city shows a stately font with a lush raspberry sitting right beside it. This can only mean that Blair will continue to raise the bar in terms of food services and this is a great thing not only for Scotland but for the world as a whole. Blairgowrie and Rattray may not be as well known as some of the bigger tourist attractions in Scotland but the town is making a name for itself from a whole different direction that is arguably more integral to the country as a whole. For this reason everybody in Scotland should feel that it is their duty to pay a visit to the lush orchards of Blair at least once in their lives.
