The county town of Buckinghamshire, Aylesbury, lies in South East of England. It is a fairly populated town having nearly 70,000 inhabitants. Aylesbury saw a massive growth in the population in the 1960s, thanks to the policy adopted by the government to establish new housing schemes to attract people from the crowded areas of London. However the rapid commercial development was brought forward at the cost of demolishing historical 16th century houses but still Aylesbury has not lost all the splendid history of the town.
The night life of Aylesbury has all the English elements including decent pubs, bars and nightclubs. The town proudly hosts some of the very finest pubs of England. Two well known railway stations serve the needs of the inhabitants namely Aylesbury railway station and Aylesbury Vale Parkway station. Aylesbury Vale Parkway station is connected with London Marylebone which is a central London railway terminus and London Underground station.
Aylesbury will soon have a grand theatre thanks to the heavy investment of £27 million by the government. The theatre is under construction and it is expected to be completed within few months.
The award winning Bourg Walk Bridge is a real astounding piece of engineering. The central pillar along with cables is visible from a distance. The bridge was completed in 2009 and is considered to be the finest bridges of England.
One of the attractions of Aylesbury includes the famous gravesite. Saint Osyth is buried in Aylesbury gravesite and for this reason pilgrims from across the English territory visit this austere but spiritual place.
