In the burgh of Perth and Kinross on the River Tay is the small Scottish market town of Aberfeldy. The town only has around 2000 residents. Located within the town is the famous Wade's bridge which was built in 1733. The bridge is just one of the sights to see here in Aberfeldy.

In the sixteenth century the Menzies Castle was built. The castle was the seat of the Chiefs of the Clan Menzies for over 400 years. It was situated in such a place for a reason. The area was centralized to their Clan and it was involved in a turbulent history. History aside the architecture is a great treat for you. The Architecture transistions between the rugged fortress of the early buildings into the mansion house which is of later construction. The manor contains many beautiful family protraits and other artifacts that tell the story of the Menzies Clan's history. During the warmer months be sure to visit the wonderful walled garden. If you were interested in having a castle wedding or other function, you can book the castle to do so.

After you trek through the castle of the Menzies Clan you might want to check out the beautiful wooded gorge of the Killiecrankie Pass. This beautifully wooded gorge is so tranquil that you can just about lose yourself in it. In 1689 it was the site of the battle in which the Jacobite army defeated the government forces. Today instead of hearing the ricochet of gunfire you can enjoy the beautiful sound of the birds. Be sure to stop by the visitor center so that you can watch the birds nesting in the woodlands.

The Scottish and Southern Energy Visitor Center is also a great stop for visitors. Located in nearby Pitlochry you can see how hydro generation schemes are built. The area around the Pitlochy Power Station is an absolutely beautiful site to see much less the interesting explaination of the power generator. While you are here you can also visit the Pitcohry Dam. You will be able to see the famous Salmon Ladder. This area you can see fish through the viewing chamber as the ascent past the dam. There is also a world of information about the Salmon and why they make their journey back to their birthplace. You can also see the turbine hall of Pilochry Hydro-Electric Power Station while you are here.
