Leominster Herefordshire is a small market town located at the confluence of the Rivers Lugg and Kenwater. The town has been around since at least the mid 1000s since there is reports of a raid by Gruffudd ap Llwelyn on the town of Leominster in 1052. Since Leominster is the historical home of the Ryeland sheep, the town was once known for it's wool production. The Ryeland sheep wool, also known as Lemster Ore, was the most prized wool in England for trade with other continents in the Middle ages.

For those who are interested in the history of the town then you should go to the Leominster Folk Museum. Here you can see a collection of many different artifacts that illustrate local life for the people of Leominster. You can see a Bronze Age Burial as well as a collection of postage stamps used in early Leominster. Admission is always free so feel free to wander the home.

Leominster has an interesting site for visitors. The Mousetrap Cheese is a place where you can go to have a nice cup of tea, a light lunch or just to sample some of the locally made cheese. That's right cheese. Visitors can see how the Little Herefordshire Cheese is made. Their traditional approach to making the cheese by hand is unique to the area. The three shops offer a wide array of cheeses made locally. Stop by and taste what they have to offer.

If you are up for a little adventure, then why not visit Bodenham English Wines located in Broadfield Court. The area has been settled since the late 1000s. You can enjoy the estate that was once home to Henry III. Here you will see many types of grapes that are used in the production of wine. Stop and sample some of the house wine or take a bottle home with you.

While you are out in the English countryside then head over to the Kinnersley Castle. This castle was once a Norman fortress that was erected in the troubled Welsh Marches region. The castle was later redesigned into a Tudor Manor to become the Vaughan family home. During his life at the home Roger Vaughan rebuilt the castle, this took a considerable amount of time lasting from 1585 to 1601. Visitors can take a guided tour of the castle and see the plasterwork ceiling and the oak paneling in the chambers. You can also see the 8 acres of gardens and one of the Larges Ginkgo Bolioba trees in England.
