The rural village of Haworth is located within the City of Bradford. Haworth is located above a valley called Worth Valley which is located amid the Pennine moors. Haworth is probably most famous for its association with the Bronte sister. The three wrote most of their most beloved novels when they lived at the Haworth Parsonage. The town and area have become a popular tourist destination because of some of its resemblance to areas portrayed in the novel Wuthering Heights, which many will admit was at odds with the town of Haworth since during the 19th Century the area was highly industrialized, except for the upper moorlands which Emily Bronte was accustomed to.

Probably the most visited site in all of Haworth is the Bronte Parsonage Museum. This is the home that the Bronte sisters, Charlotte, Emily and Anne spent most of their time in when they lived in Haworth. In this home the three wrote some of their most famous novels. The area surrounding the home is on the open and expansive moorland, which can be reflected in their writings. Here in this home you can the toy soldiers that was said to have help spark their imaginations. Among the collection you will also see some of the minute books that the girls made. These books were designed to be small enough for the toy soldiers and away from the prying eyes of the adults. You can see many of the other artifacts that made up their lives here too. If you are a huge fan of the Bronte sisters you might consider joining the Bronte society, which is open to anyone who is interested in joining.

If you like art then you might want to time your visit to take place during the Haworth Arts Festival. It began in 2000 and was in full swing by 2001 but then the festival was discontinued until 2005. Today the festival combines street performances, visual arts, and performing arts into one large festival. There are many professional artist, performers and musicians that come to the festival. It's a lot of fun and you never know who you might get to see while you're here.

While you are here you might want to take a walk on one of many of the public footpaths that lead out into the countryside. You can wander through the country side and see many of the interesting sites. There are many paths and streets named for the Bronte sisters and it could be interesting to see how many you can come across. There is also a beautiful little waterfall named for the famed writers.
