Leyburn is not what you would call one of the most unique or different towns in England, much less North Yorkshire, but it most definitely has an identity that is all its own and for that matter the town is far more appealing and enjoyable than most of its surrounding area. Most people in North Yorkshire would in fact consider Leyburn a weekend destination or day trip long before they'd think of it simply as yet another town in North Yorkshire. With one of the most consistently busy market squares in history, it is little wonder to locals why Leyburn should be such a prevalent factor in the plans of the surrounding citizens but people from other parts of England may not be aware of the often stunning stats that surround the famed market town of Leyburn.

First of all, there is not one but two market squares in the town of Leyburn and both are worthy of the highest esteem. There are also countless pubs, antique shops, clothing boutiques, and many other treasures that make the town an indispensable shopping town for the locals who are too far away from major cities yet too close to small burgs that would make outrageous apparel illogical. Either way, the major draw of Leyburn is not in fact the shopping district but rather the immense amount of natural beauty that lies just outside the town limits of the picturesque town. Chief among these attractions is the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The Vale of York is easily visible here among the gorgeous streams and hills that make up this beloved section of England. This area spreads out to areas like Dent and Settle but it is from Leyburn that some of the most scenic and extraordinary views are beheld and it is for this reason that the town is an important asset to the economy of these much ballyhooed dales.

There is also, of course, a plethora of things to do within Leyburn so one needn't feel like the Yorkshire Dales are the only reason to visit this picturesque haven. To be sure, the vast range of activities engaged in by residents and tourists alike include such ubiquitously fun activities as the famed May Day holiday celebration and the Wensleydale agricultural show. Not all of these attractions will attract everybody but one can be reasonably sure that Leyburn will have at least one thing that will bring joy to at least one person. This is, ultimately, the aspect of the town that rings true with the most people; most towns claim to have something for everybody but Leyburn is one of those towns that actually deliver on their promises and Leyburn delivers in a big way. From the beautiful sights to the incredible architecture and other manmade treasures one will always find something to be thrilled with within the town limits of this unique and eclectic town. With such thrills it can be confidently stated that a visit to Leyburn is more than just a layover: It is a potential permanent stayover.
