| Brixham is a place you won't forget. Teirs of charming fishermans cottages, inns and shops surround its picturesque harbour. This intimate, yet busy fishing port gives it a character that set it apart; where pride in fishing has created a strong sense of community that can be seen in the closely packed houses and the narrow, timeless streets. |

| Yet Brixham has played a significant role in English history. It was there that William Prince of Orange arrived from Holland in 1688 with his army for a bloodless invasion that was to see him become King of England. But Brixham is more than fishing and history. On both sides of the town there are beautiful sandy and pebble beaches, cliff walks and many places of interest to visit. Brixham provides an ideal base for a motoring holiday break. In a relatively short time you can experience romantic Dartmoor, take a boat trip up the River Dart or explore the marvellous Devon countryside. In the vicinity there's a wide range of things to do and places to visit that will make your stay in Brixham one you will always remember. |
