Our lounge bar is the place to enjoy a taste from our selection of fine ales and wines. We are recommended by the CAMRA guide and you might like to try a real Welsh Ale or one of our changing guest beers.

Our bar menu features many homemade dishes, such as our very popular Chicken Liver Pate, made with a liberal splash of brandy, or our own recipe Sugar Baked Ham.

Our candlelit restaurant offers a selection of locally produced steak and lamb, duck and fish dishes, with an interesting selection of starters and some irresistible puddings.

From the Goat, you can plan innumerable excursions to the lovely mountains and lakes of Snowdonia, the West Wales coast, historic borderlands or the interesting towns and villages of Mid Wales. Llanfair Caereinion is the terminus of the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway and many fine walks can be made around the town and riverside.

In summer Powis Castle, Lae Vyrnwy and Pistyll Rhaedr Waterfall make excellent days out within a very short drive. In winter when the snow caps the hills, you can enjoy a brisk walk, followed by a hearty bowl of homemade soup beside a roaring fire, while planning tomorrow's trip.

If you are keen to spend an active holiday, you will find plenty of interest nearby, such as golf, bicycle hire, swimming, quad-trekking, clay pigeon shooting - nearby our local leisure centre offers squash, badminton and a fitness suite.
