Our comfortable hotel has stunning views from its dining room as well as from some of the sixteen en-suite bedrooms. It is ideally located for golfing, fishing, walking, garden tours, historic sites.

The restaurant has an excellent reputation for the best of Scottish fare. Meals are complemented with a selection of fine wines and "West Coast" malt whiskies.

Starters

Cullen Skink; a substantial Scottish soup made with Smoked Haddock, potato, spring onion and cream.
Melon; served with a tangy blackcurrent sorbet and drizzled with crème de cassis.
House Pate; a rich meaty Cumberland sauce, Scotts Oakcakes and a salad garnish.

Main Courses

Trio of Lamb Chops; served on a timbale of creamy potato and white bean mash with a blackcurrant, red wine and rosemary sauce.
Poached fillet of Scottish Salmon; served on a bed of vegetable noodles and coated in Gravadlax sauce.
Char-grilled Scottish Fillet Steak on a fondant potato cake drizzled with a peppercorn and brandy sauce.
Plump Chicken Breast; stuffed with Haggis and served with a whisky cream sauce.

Homemade Puddings

Heringues; filled with fresh cream and served with Rich Chocolate Sauce.
Strawberry Shortbread; served with fresh cream and almonds.
Sticky Toffee Pudding; served with vanilla ice cream and a light toffee sauce.


The Isle of Bute

The Isle of Bute - Scotland's first Island in the Highlands is just over an hour by road/rail and scenic ferry from Glasgow airport.

The island is remarkably accessible, but despite its proximity to the Scottish mainland, is an oasis of peace and tranquility, with the easy going pace of island life.

Music festivals, Regattas, Celebrity Weddings add to the natural attractions, golfing, fishing, walking and cycling for the more active.

Travelling to the Isle of Bute is a pleasure in itself with the main car/passenger ferry crossing from Wemyss Bay taking a mere 30 minutes. Alternatively, drive through some of Scotland's finest scenery, via Loch Lomond and the Rest and be Thankful to Colintraive and take the 5 minute ferry crossing at the north end of the Island. A hopscotch ferry ticket is also available from Greenock to Dunoon, Colintraive to Rhubodoch and Rothesay to Wemyss Bay (or in reverse).
