Staveley Grange has three guest bedrooms with a choice of double or twin rooms, all with en suite facilities. Each is individually furnished and has a television, a coffee/tea tray, a hairdryer and other luxuries.

A choice of full cooked or continental breakfast is offered. Dinner or supper is available by prior arrangement. Fresh produce, either from the garden or locally grown, is used in season and special diets are catered for.

Staveley Grange is just 2.4 miles from the A1 (M) and a short drive from the Yorkshire Show Ground and the Harrogate Convention Centre. It is a perfect place at which to break your journey or stay when you are attending events in Harrogate. If you have the time it is also an ideal base for exploring the beauties of the Yorkshire Dales, the abbeys and 'Heriot' Country.

There are a variety of excellent eating establishments in the vicinity which will suit most tastes and pockets. Included are the 'Royal Oak' free house (a short walk away) for good 'pub food' and a recommended French restaurant in the next village.

The historic towns of RIPON and KNARESBOROUGH and the ancient city of YORK with its wonderful Minister, Mediaeval streets, walls and River Cruises. The spa town of HARROGATE, the Stray, Valley gardens and Betty's famous cafe. It is only 8 miles to FOUNTAINS ABBEY, the STUDLEY ROYAL water gardens and the DEER PARK - now a WORLD HERITAGE SITE. On a smaller scale RIELEAULX ABBEY and the TERRACES are set in the north Yorkshire National Park.

Staveley Grange is an ideal centre from which to tour the unique YORKSHIRE DALES, the ABBEYS and the NORTH YORKS MOORS. A few minutes drivetakes you to RIPLEY CASTLE (still bearing the bullet marks of Cromwell's army) where the Ingilby family have lived for the past 670 years. NEWBY HALL, its famous house and gardens are nearer. And do not miss HAREWOOD HOUSE'S treasures and CASTLE HOWARD where 'Brideshead Revisited' was filmed.

BOATS can be hired for a lazy afternoon on the river at Knaresborough. OLD MOTHER SHIPTON'S wishing well turning hats to stone is on the Riverside walk there.

From A1 (M):
Leave A1 (M) at junction 48 (Boroughbridge, Dishforth, Ripon, Knaresborough). take A6055 to Minskip. Nearly through Minskip, turn right signed to Staveley 2 miles. In Staveley bear right. 200 yards on right, just before low stone wall with iron railings, turn into Staveley Grange drive. There is parking.

From Harrogate:
Take A59 to Knaresborough. Straight on in Knaresborough to A6055 signed Boroughbridge. Less than 1 mile out take left hand turn signed Farnham (on right hand bend in main road). T junction in Farnham turn right. At top of hill turn left at cross roads to Staveley. In Staveley pass church and Royal Oak on your left. Just after low stone wall with iron railings turn left into Staveley Grange drive. There is parking.

By Rail:
Harrogate,Knaresborough or York stations.
Taxis available.

The Grange Bran

THE GRANGE BARN is a 16th century Threshing Barn listed in its own right. Now tastefully converted in consultation with the planning Authority, it is a special venue for private functions, dinners, small seminars, meetings and the like.
