The Somerton House has seven comfortably furnished bedrooms all fitted to a high standard, all have satellite colour TV together with tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryers, irons, radio alarms etc.
Our bedrooms have been designed to be individual, to accommodate our guests needs, 50% have a sea view. We can also offer a ground floor room, this and a number of our other bedrooms are en suite.
Children are very welcome, toy boxes and cots etc are supplied where possible.
We are a NON-SMOKING establishment. |


We are pleased to announce that we have achieved the high standard required to be awarded both the good hygiene certificate and the heartbeat award for our varied choice of menus.
You will find we can cater for all your needs, with a varied breakfast menu, from kippers to continental, not forgetting the good old English. Our evening dinners offer at least 3 choices, for both starters and main courses, with a selection of fine wines being available.
We have recently introduced a childrens menu, and have found it very popular. To help our smaller guests we can supply childrens cutlery and high chairs.
If you have a special diet this can be arranged and you will also find our menus contain a 'healthy option'.
Our licensed bar lounge is open every day up to 11pm and has one of the best panoramic views in Lowestoft. |


Somerton House
Somerton House is a distinguished Victorian Grade II listed building, designed by Sir Morton Peto situated in a conservation area. The house has managed to retain many of its original features over its long history. In keeping with this, our rooms are decorated and furnished with a strong Victorian empathy.
Somerton is on the A12 overlooking the south beach which is a fine tide washed, sandy safe beach that has achieved many prestigious awards.
Rooms are available from 12 noon on the day of arrival and will be held until 6pm that day, unless we are informed of a later arrival time. Rooms should be vacated by 10.30 on the day of departure.
Bookings
Bookings should be confirmed in writing, together with the appropriate deposit within seven days. Confirmed bookings made for a date within seven days will be accepted with a credit card deposit.
Cancellations
When reserving accommodation, you will be entering into a legally binding contract, and we may be entitled to compensation if the booking is cancelled and the accommodation cannot be re-let. Any deposit paid may not be refunded. |

Please note there are parts of the beach where dogs are not allowed in the holiday season. On the other stretches of the beach you are welcome to walk your dog, but please clean up any mistakes after them
Lowestoft
Lowestoft is the most easterly point of the British Isles, on the A12 with a population of over 55,000 and has traffic free esplanades. It is in the Waveney District which combines town and country with seaside and broadland, offering the visitor a wide choice of holiday activity with lots to do and see, and beaches second to none. |

Dry, bracing and equable. Almost entirely free from fog, and with a very high record of sunshine.
