We are a five minute stroll from Fairbourne Beach, which boasts a one and a half mile flat, sandy beach, offering safe bathing for adults and children alike.

The Fairbourne narrow gauge railway runs from the village centre, 2 miles along the dunes to Penrhyn Point from where, during the summer months a small ferry runs the short trip across the river to Barmouth with views up the estuary towards Cader Idris.

The area boasts a host of activities and attractions: Railway buffs are spoilt for choice from amongst the great little trains of Wales, the Ffestiniog, Talyllyn, Vale of Rheiddol, Snowdon Mountain Railway, Bala Lake and the Llanberis Lake Railway all being within easy reach.

Mountain bikers and horse riders are well catered for, with two or three riding centres, the Coed Y Brenin biking and rambling centre, and numerous trails through the hills and along the estuary.

The Snowdonia National Park is world famous for its wonderful scenery, mountain walking and climbing as well as pretty villages such as Beddgelert, Porthmadog and Dolgellau, and there is also the renowned Italianate village of Portmeirion, the setting for the sixties cult drama series The Prisoner. There are also the magnificent medieval castles of Harlech and Caernarfon.

With these and many other attractions such as the Centre for Alternative Technology, it is small wonder that many of our guests return time after time.
