 A beautifully restored farmhouse in a tiny hamlet on a fellside overlooking the unspoilt Eden Valley. Pamela Bonnick and Richard Graham offer you a warm welcome to their home. Two double bedrooms and one twin room are available, all with period furniture, books, paintings and central heating. Well appointed private bathroom, toilet and shower facilities are offered. The cosy drawing room has a log fire, TV and games.  The North Pennines is an area of outstanding natural beauty, known as "England's Last Wilderness". Wildlife, rare elsewhere, is common here, with hares, skylarks, lapwings, curlews, snipe, etc. There are many interesting places to visit - Carlisle Castle, Hadrian's Wall and Ullswater are just 25 minutes drive away - and wonderful scenery to enjoy in the Lakeland area.  Home cooked breakfasts and evening meals are prepared with fresh home grown or locally sourced produce. Home made bread and jams are a speciality. A non-smoking house in which children are welcome. Ample secure parking.  Bed and Breakfast from £24 per person. Evening meals from £12 per person. If you prefer all organic food please mention when booking. There are a variety of good local pubs to eat or you can stay in and be served a delicious home cooked meal with your own wine, then just relax by the fire or stroll around the lanes or fell without having to drive anywhere. We are 5 miles from the Settle toCarlisle railway line and can collect you from Lazonby Station. We are 1 mile from the C2C Cycle route which passes through Renwick before the steep ascent to Hartside pass.  Our facilities are such that we offer B and B to horses and riders, with 3 loose boxes and a field. We have a Fell pony and Welsh cob ourselves as the riding here is fantastic. Our own assorted hens provide delicious free-range eggs for breakfast.  If peace and quiet are your ideal then Scalehouse Farm is the place to stay.  |

Directions:  M6 Junction 41, A6 North (Carlisle) to Plumpton Right on B road to Lazonby, Kirkoswald - here go through village, up hill, look out for right turn on brow of hill signed Renwick etc.In High Bank Hill take right (looks straight on) on sharp left hand bend, again signed Renwick.After about 3 miles T-Junction turn right. Go into Renwick, through village on the road to Croglin. 1 mile signed Scalehouses and our B and B sign by black Dutch barn.Take this right turn up the hill and you will see us to the left of the cross roads on the right hand side.Come in through the metal gate and park in the yard in front of the house.Good Luck! |
