Cars can be parked on the drive.
Campbeltown is the main town on the Kintyre peninsula. There is a busy harbour with many visiting yachts moored at the pontoons. Nearby is the local library and museum, the Picture House and Main Street.
In the Main Street, and also in Kilkerran Road, just past the ferry terminal, are a number of hotels where good food can be found.
Golfers are able to play the world famous links course at Machrihanish, the popular 18 hole Dunaverty course at Southend or the 9 hole course at Carradale.
Campbeltown has an excellent 25 metre swimming pool for the really energetic, our Community Centre has gym facilities etc. Visitors may use the private tennis courts by arrangement.
Kintyre is an ideal place for walking, cycling, bird-watching, fishing and just lazing about on the beautiful unspoilt beaches.
More information can be obtained from the local Tourist Office situated at the harbour.
Kintyre is situated on the West Coat of Scotland, approximately 140 miles from Glasgow and only 90 miles from Oban, gateway to the Western Isles.
For those not travelling by car, there are good bus services operating for Citylink by West Coast Motors with three buses each day to and from Glasgow. There are other buses to Mid-Argyll.
British Airways fly from Glasgow to Machrihanish every day apart from Sunday.
In summer 1997, a new twice daily ferry service is being operated by Argyll & Antrim Steam Packet Company to Ballycastle from Campbeltown. Caledonian MacBrayne operate ferry services from Cloanaig to Lochranza on Arran, Tayinloan to Gigha, Kennacraig to Islay and Tarbert to Cowal. All of these less than 45 minutes from Campbeltown.
