| Rosemundy Cottage provides a spacious, comfortable and relaxing base for a weekend break in Devizes or longer holiday in Wiltshire. Set back down a short lane from London Road, the wisteria covered front is alongside the Kennet and Avon Canal and affords off road parking for guests. The pretty enclosed rear garden also has a swimming pool and BBQ available in the summer months. Our picturesque cottage is a short level walk to the Market Place either by towpath or road, and well situated for sightseeing, being within easy reach of many tourist attractions. We welcome visitors from the UK or overseas. Fire officer approved fire precautions. Our accommodation includes a four poster and a ground floor room, facilities include guest office, free wireless broadband and sitting room with satellite TV, books, maps and guides. Rosemundy Cottage offers a high standard of comfort in all rooms. All bedrooms are double en-suite rooms but are available for single occupancy.  Rooms include a romantic four poster and a ground floor room with black and white en-suite bath and shower. Some rooms can have additional beds to accommodate children. All the rooms have TV, freeview and DVD players, radio alarm clocks, soft quilts, electric blankets, bath robes, hairdryer, safe, wireless internet access and of course refreshment trays. All the refreshment trays have bottled water, teapots and cafetieres with choices of teas and coffees. Some rooms also have a trouser press. An iron is available on request and we are happy to help out if you have forgotten something.  Keep in touch with family, friends or business from the guest office which has computer, broadband access, printer, photocopier and related items. Fax facility available. |
Breakfast at leisure, in traditional English style - fruit juice, cereal, fresh fruit and then a choice of cooked items followed by toast and home made marmalade or jam, with tea or coffee of your choice.  The dining room has an open fireplace and joins the tranquil sitting room which opens out onto a sunny patio and the enclosed garden beyond which has a summer house, swimming pool (heated in summer) and shaded sitting area. Guests are welcome to use the barbecue on warm summer evenings.  Alternatively watch the narrow boats go by on the Kennet and Avon from the secluded upper patio or feed the ducks from the canal side terrace. Parents are advised that as the pool and canal are unfenced that children need to be supervised whilst in the garden. Rosemundy Cottage is a non-smoking establishment, and regretfully no pets. |
| Directions - How to Find Us By Road: Located on London Road, the A361 Devizes to Avebury and Swindon road. Travelling from M4 London take junction 14 to Hungerford, then A4 through Marlborough to just after Silbury Hill, then left on A361 (Roman) road. On the edge of town you will pass the old Barracks, opposite a Total petrol station. At the roundabout continue ahead for approximately 300 yards. On the left is a lane between two brick walls, turn here for Rosemundy Cottage, just before our sign. From the west on M4 take junction 17, the A350 to Chippenham and join the A4 signed for Calne and Marlborough. Just out of Chippenham, close to Bowood House, take the right fork, A342 to Devizes. Continue through Devizes centre, for A361 for Swindon, past the Crammer (with swans, ducks and geese), over the canal bridge, and just after the Wiltshire Police HQ, on the right, turn into the lane, between two brick walls, Rosemundy Cottage is on the right, just before the canal bridge. Public Transport Coach: National Express provide a daily express coach service 402 between Devizes and Heathrow Airport. (www.nationalexpress.com) Rail/Bus: Depending on your starting point, local stations are Pewsey (11.1 miles), Chippenham (12.1 miles), Westbury (14.9 miles) and Swindon (19.7 miles). Whilst a little further Swindon has frequent trains from a selection of routes and is linked by an hourly Wiltshire Express bus service (First, Service 49) that stops at a shelter (Police HQ), close to Rosemundy Cottage. Chippenham is linked with Wilts and Dorset service 33 and X33. Pewsey is linked by Service 5 to Avebury, and then the Service 49. For details contact Traveline on 0870 608 2608 .
