About Us

For the less energetic the top of Bird Rock (Craig y Aderyn) is easily reached and gives a panoramic view of the whole Dysynni Valley to the sea.

Riverside, Tywyn

Bird rock is the only inland nesting site for the cormorant in the British Isles, the cormorant, a sea bird that has nested here since before the times of the Romans and Vikings when the valley was covered by sea and salt marsh.

Cormorants are used by the Chinese for fishing, they prevent the bird from swallowing the fish by the use of a brass ring around the neck, from which they attach their "fishing" line.

Other easy walks include the walk to the famous Dolgoch Falls, where the lower falls are easily accessible. A little time and effort are required to reach the middle and upper falls, each with its own charm.

Wales may be accused of having more than its fair share of rain! Without it there would not be the cascading waterfalls or tranquil lakes.

Services

If you are looking for quality fishing, traditional Welsh hospitality and friendship, all amongst beautiful countryside and coastline, this is the area for you.

The many and varied rivers offer spectacular scenery and tranquillity and you can catch wild brown trout, grayling, salmon and sea trout.

If stillwater game fishing attracts you, then the rich shallow water of Talyllyn Lake provides excellent brown trout fishing with the chance of sea trout and salmon late in the season.

On the coast you may choose white water surf fishing for bass from Tywyn's shallow storm beaches. Throughout the year expect turbot, skate, mackerel, mullet and plaice.

Tywyn also has a weekly market held on Mondays throughout the holiday season. A more traditional street market is held in Machynlleth every Wednesday throughout the year, while Barmouth’s market is on Thursdays, during the season.
