Local Area
Callander itself is a popular tourist stop set amongst magnificent scenery in the central belt of Scotland. Set in the heart of the Trossachs and the National Park it is a handy base for touring by car with Edinburgh, Perth and Glasgow all being a convenient drive, train or bus ride away. Visits to Stirling and Edinburgh Castles, The Wallace Monument, a sail on the Sir Walter Scott steamer on Loch Katrine and a trip to the awesome Falkirk Wheel are absolute 'must dos'.
Callander is an ideal centre for cycling and walking with routes of varying degrees of difficulty in the immediate area. Cycles and fishing rods can be supplied for your enjoyment.
Another pleasant experience is a shopping trip into the village or a meal in one the excellent pubs and restaurants. Various weekend evening entertainment can be enjoyed in some of the pubs.
For the more energetic a game of golf on our picturesque 18-hole golf course can be arranged as can river or loch fishing and horse riding. They are all just a phone call away.
There are many events organised throughout the area annually ranging from sheepdog trials, a mushroom festival, the World Highland Games and our own Callander Jazz and Blues festival held this year in October to name but a few.
A visit to Callander is an experience awaiting your enjoyment |
