Nick and Cathy Prime extend the hospitality of Redmayne House, a large comfortable residence in the attractive town of Kirkby Stephen. Redmayne House is situated away from the main road but only two minutes walk from the market square. Built in the late 18th century and extended in the 19th century, it is a listed building of special architectural interest containing a panelled Georgian dining room and a handsome Victorian sitting room. The house is suitably furnished and set in a large garden which guests are welcome to enjoy.
We offer a good English breakfast with home made bread and produce bought or grown locally.
Situated by the River Eden, Kirkby Stephen is in a beautiful, unspoilt area, ideal for lovers of the countryside. The town itself has good facilities, a beautiful medieval church and lovely walks around the town and to the pretty villages nearby. For more experienced walkers there are the high fells of the Pennines and the Howgills.
The area is also popular for fishermen and cyclists. The Eden Valley lies between two national parks, the Yorkshire dales and the Lake District. These are linked by Wainwright's "Coast to Coast" footpath which passes through Kirkby Stephen. |
