Shrewsbury's Royal Hotel

Once the private residence of Prince Rupert, King James I's grandson, and situated in the heart of medieval Shrewsbury midst black and white timbered buildings. Our 70 tastefully furnished en suite bedrooms include 12th century Mansion House Suites, 15th century oak beamed suites, four poster canopied beds and deluxe rooms. All have television, hair dryer and welcome tea trays.

12th Century Mansion House Suites

The Mansion House is Shrewsbury's oldest secular building dating back to 1150 and provides the hotel with five individually appointed suites each named after Prince Rupert's family.

Under the guidance of English Heritage the Mansion House has been carefully restored and original features abound which include a magnificent Jacobean staircase and Shrewsbury's only stone vaulted cellar.

Royalist Restaurant

The elegant and recently refurbished Royalist Restaurant has a renowned reputation for excellent cuisine and service with an extensive a la carte and comprehensive wine list.

The Royalist Restaurant provides a truly medieval atmosphere with oak panelling, two fireplaces including a feature inglenook and suits of armour. A wonderful restaurant with memorable cuisine and service.

The Royalist lounge also serves morning coffee, light lunches and afternoon tea.

Chambers

Chambers, an oak panelled brasserie and bar offers a traditional English style menu at sensible prices in a relaxed setting and has become recognised as one of Shrewsbury's most popular restaurants.
