Parkfield is a delightful Lakeland residence quietly situated in one of the most beautiful and convenient locations in the town overlooking Hope Park and the nine-hole golf course. The Guest House is a turn of the century property of Victorian style and proportions that has recently been completely restored and renovated.

The guests lounge has superb views over the North Western fells to the mountains beyond (Causey and Grisedale Pikes) and is beautifully decorated and furnished. |

Keswick is in one of the most outstandingly beautiful areas of England and Parkfield Guest House is in an enviable position in the town. It is situated amongst the small group of Guest Houses and Hotels nearest to the lake (Derwentwater) and the Theatre By The Lake. The launch/ferry service on the lake offers a round-trip or can be used as a taxi service dropping you off at your chosen landing stage. |

Hope Park with its floral displays, putting green and nine-hole golf course is immediately adjacent to the National Trust-owned Crowe Park whose grassland forms the head of the lake. From this attractive vantage point you overlook the boat landing stages.

Keswick town has many attractive shops and good eating places with quality pub and restaurant food on offer at reasonable prices. All these facilities are within easy walking distance from Parkfield.
Other easy walks from the house include Friar's Crag (6 - 7 minutes), the entrance to the Borrowdale Valley (10 minutes), and off the Borrowdale Valley, Castle Head (with its superb views over Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite Lake) is only 20 minutes away. There are numerous longer walks including the stunning views of Derwentwater from the elevated walk along Walla Crag. Surprise view is a must whether you walk (1.25 hours) or drive there (10 - 15 minutes).Driving on the short circular route (1 - 1.5 hours) down the Borrowdale Valley takes you over the Honister Pass, past Buttermere Lake, Crummock Water and back via Whinlatter Pass or the Newlands Valley. Grasmere is a short drive or bus ride away (15 - 20 minutes), Ambleside is just a little further, and Windermere (the largest lake) only 18 miles away from Keswick. |
