The Old Vicarage ceased to be the official home of the clergy attached to Mullion's Parish Church, in 1981 when a new vicarage was purchased a few hundred yards further down Nansmellyon Road. According to local historians, The Old Vicarage is at least third in a succession of previous vicarages. The other two houses still exist, and are now private dwellings. It is known that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle stayed at The Old Vicarage, and it is thought to have provided the basis for the vicarage in the Sherlock Holmes story, The Devil's Foot.  |
| Since Jacqui and her family took over The Old Vicarage in 1996, she has decorated and furnished their home in her own distinctive style. This is reflected in the individual decor, unique to each of the bedrooms. All have colour television, tea and coffee making facilities, central heating, hair dryer, and all save one are en suite (this room does have it's own private bathroom). Being at the front of the house, facing south, the bedrooms enjoy the best of the sunlight, and afford views of the sea across Mounts Bay towardrs Penzance. The Old Vicarage is well situated, being five to six minutes walk from the village shops, pubs and restaurants.  |
 | Mullion is an ideal centre for visitors wishing to explore the Lizard, and much of West Cornwall. Truro, Falmouth, and Penzance are only within 40 minutes drive.The Eden Project, Lands End and Newquay are within easy reach for days out. Why not enjoy the magic of a warm summer evening at the Minack Theatre? There are currently twice weekly mini-bus trips from the village, during the season, to the amphitheatre. |

| Locally, Mullion has many attractions - the picturesque Mullion Cove with its harbour is only 20 minutes walk (5 by car) from the village, as are two superb sandy coves (Polurrian & Poldhu) offering sun, sea, and surf. Mullon Golf Course, with its fine cliff top views,welcomes visitors, and is within 7 minutes drive. For walking enthusiasts, as well as those who prefer a leisurely stroll there are many footpaths around Mullion, in particular the cliff paths providing panoramic views over land and sea, as well as fine examples of the rugged Cornish coastline. We have a comprehensive selection of local maps and books giving details of walks, for guests to use. |
