 Set in open countryside, 'Oaklands' lies just 3 miles north of the ancient and historic city of York, within very easy reach of the York Ring Road (A1237), the A64 and A19, giving ready access to the North Yorkshire Dales, Moors and Coast. Only 9 miles away you can visit Castle Howard, the magnificent ancestral home of the Howards, with its many antique treasures, extensive gardens, lake and picnic areas. There are of course, numerous places and areas of beauty and interest, which we'd be only too happy to highlight on your arrival at 'Oaklands', where you'll find a very warm welcome in our friendly and comfortable home, which lies on a very regular bus route to York, with 2 nearby Park and Rides. |
Each of our bedrooms is equipped with color T.V., radio alarm, hair dryer, coffee and tea making facilities, private or en-suite facility. We've also made available to you a separate guest lounge cum breakfast room where we've provided a selection of books and games for the enjoyment of both our adult and younger guest alike. Free off-road parking is available and you also have the use of our attractive garden. (The only place at 'Oaklands', incidentally, where smoking is allowed.) Our more than ample full English breakfast will certainly ensure that you're well nourished before you set off to discover the delights of North Yorkshire and, whilst we don't provide dinner, you'll find the local area rich in both 'pubs' and restaurants, providing cuisine of a standard second to none anywhere in the country! |
