 | Netherdale, a delightful ten - bedroomed house built in 1897 and set in a pleasant residential road close to Poole's Cavern and Country Park. Netherdale is a totally "Non - Smoking" but licensed premises. Denise and Frank will ensure that your stay is homely and all your comforts are catered for. |

| Our bedrooms all have colour TV, tea and coffee making facilities. Eight bedrooms are en suite and centrally heated of course. Two bedrooms are single occupancy and have their own sink with convenient toilet and shower but not within the room. There are two superb family rooms and three rooms can accommodate twin requirements. |

| We often cater for large parties of people including cricket teams and reunions. The Netherdale is a good choice for this type of get together as there is a large guest lounge for evening soirées to "replay" the days events or simply relax with a beverage and enjoy the ambience |

| Our breakfasts are renowned for giving you an excellent start for the day. All breakfasts have availability of grapefruit, cereal and lots of warm tea, coffee and toast. |

The off - road parking enables you to take full advantage of leaving your car and strolling to the restaurant area which is only a stones throw away. There is plenty of variety including English, Chinese, Indian, Italian or Spanish - but perhaps you would prefer the Olde English Pub and grub! (There is plenty of variety here).
Buxton and the surrounding area offers a wealth of places to walk, houses and gardens to visit and all sorts of caves and wildlife attractions. Evening entertainment at the Opera House now has a "year round" calendar of attractions and an excellent guide is available from the Tourist Information Centre or we would be pleased to help you with your enquiries. |

Netherdale Guest House Access Statement
Introduction Our home is set in an attractive spa town and offers ten guest rooms. The house is over one hundred years old and whilst we aim to meet the needs of all our guests there are features which might make access difficult for people with limited mobility. We are located on a wide tree lined road where parking is generally extremely easy and have rooms at different levels, there are two steps into the the house and quite a number of steps to some rooms. Passageways in the annexe are fairly narrow. Rooms are of typical proportions and generally not suitable for wheelchair users.
Pre-Arrival
- We are located on a wide road which leads to Poole's Cavern and the High School. Our location is quiet without being far from restaurants and shops.
- The nearest restaurants are approximately 600 yard away.
- The nearest bus stop is on the market place about 800 yards away. Buses run regularly to local places of interest.
- The nearest railway station is Buxton which is approximately 3/4 mile away. Taxis are usually available at the station but we can book one for you in advance if required.
- There are many local taxi companies; we can make bookings in advance for you.
- We regret we do not have facilities to prepare documents in braille.

Arrival and Car Parking
- Please advise us of your anticipated arrival time so that we can be sure we are here to welcome you or ensure that we have a mobile phone that we can keep in touch with you in case of delay on day of arrival.
- To ensure your accommodation is ready we ask that guests do not normally arrive before 12.30pm. Earlier arrival may, however, be possible by arrangement.
- Parking is on a level drive in front of the main door. Please park in the gravelled parking area, although on road parking is reasonably safe. However all parking is at owners risk
- We offer assistance with luggage.
Main Entrance
- There are two steps of 9 inches up to the front door.
- The front door has an audible bell but please phone the guest house number on arrival as we may be located next door.
Guest Accommodation - Public Areas
- The house is Victorian and downstairs the hallway leads through 2 fire doors andj down one 9 inch step to the ground floor accommodation
- There is also access to one ground floor rooms via a rear drive and 12 inch step through a fire door but wheelchair access would be limited.
- The hallway has both guest lounge and breakfast room leading from it.
- There are 9 stairs to the first floor; there is a hand rail on one side of these stairs. The stairs are carpeted.
- There is a downstairs toilet that available with the single room and this adjoins the downstairs double room. These are the only two ground floor rooms available.
- We have three guest bedrooms on the on the first floor
- We have 5 guest bedrooms on the second floor.
- The property is centrally heated throughout but temperatures can be adjusted in each room to suit individual requirements.
Lounge and Dining Room
- Guests are welcome to use the lounge at any time.
- The lounge has two sofas and straight back chairs but more can be moved into there from the dining room but space if required. This room has a television and a radio.
- The lounge is carpeted and heated as required when occupied.
- A selection of local information, maps, magazines and board games is available in the lounge.
- Breakfasts are served in the dining room.
- The dining room has a carpeted floor and can cater for up to 23 persons at any time.
- We are licensed for the sale of alcohol
Bedrooms
- There are two bedrooms are on the first floor, one double room with access to the back of the premises via a fire door and the other is a single non en suite room
- These rooms are within an area enclosed by a fire door and are often utilised by families that require a double and single ground floor room.
- The double room has en suite facilities consisting of a shower, WC and wash basin. The single room has WC just outside the room and a wash basin.
- Tea and coffee facilities are provided.
- We also provide a hair dryer and a selection of books.
- Our beds are normally made with blankets, sheets and throws but duvets are available on request. Generally, pillows are synthetic.
- There is a wardrobe and dressing table in each room.
- Our bedrooms are not large enough to accommodate additional seating.
- There is a folder in each bedroom which contains further information about regional attractions.
Bedroom 1
- Bedroom 1 is to the left on the first floor.
- This room has a 4ft 6in double bed with access from both sides.
- This room also has two full size 3ft 6in single beds.
- The bedroom has en suite facilities.
Bedroom 2
- Bedroom 2 is to the left on the second floor
- This room has a 4ft 6in double bed with access from both sides.
- This room has very good views over surrounding hills.
- The bedroom has en suite facilities.
Bedroom 3
- Bedroom 3 is to the left on the second floor
- This room has a 4ft 6in double bed with access from both sides.
- This room is a good sized double for a longer stay.
- The bedroom has en suite facilities.
Bedroom 4
- Bedroom 4 is opposite the stairs on the second floor
- This room has a 3ft 6in single bed with access from one side.
- The bedroom has wash basin in the room; own toilet outside the room and shower shared with other single room on the first floor.
Bedroom 5
- Bedroom 5 is to the right on the second floor
- This room has a 4ft 6in double bed with access from both sides.
- This room also has two full size 3ft 6in bunk beds.
- The bedroom has en suite facilities.
Bedroom 6
- Bedroom 6 is to the right on the second floor
- This room has two twin beds, one with access from both sides.
- This room is a good sized twin for a longer stay.
- This room has very good views over surrounding hills.
- The bedroom has en suite facilities.
Bedroom 7
- Bedroom 7 is on the ground floor in the annexe.
- This bedroom is accessed via the front door but there is a 9 inch step down from the hall way to this level.
- This room has a 3ft 6in single bed with access from one side.
- The bedroom has wash basin in the room; own toilet outside the room and shower shared with other single room on the first floor.
Bedroom 8
- Bedroom 8 is on the ground floor in the annexe.
- This bedroom is accessed via the front door but there is a 9 inch step down from the hall way to this level.
- This room has a 4ft 6in double bed with access from both sides.
- The bedroom has en suite facilities.
Bedroom 9
- Bedroom 9 is up one short flight of stairs to the right on the first floor of the annexe.
- This room has a 4ft 6in double bed with access from both sides.
- This room is fairly quiet as is in the rear of the house.
- The bedroom has en suite facilities.
Bedroom 10
- Bedroom 10 is up one short flight of stairs straight ahead on the first floor of the annexe.
- This room has two twin beds, one with access from both sides.
- This room is fairly quiet as is in the rear of the house.
- The bedroom has en suite facilities.
Additional Information
- There is a fire extinguisher in the entrance hall and another at the top of the main stairs. There is also another extinguisher at the bottom of the annexe stairs by the rear exit.
- In the event of a fire, the fire alarm will sound. Please advise us if you have a hearing impairment and might not hear this.
- The building can be evacuated via the door at the bottom of the guest stairs for rooms 1 to 6 or the door to the rear of the premises in the annexe. In emergency there is also an exit via our bedroom which is indicated as Private but has a Fire Exit sign above on the landing in the main house; therefore for use by rooms 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6
- We do not permit smoking in the house but you may smoke in the car park. Please do not leave cigarette stubs on the car park.
- We are happy to cater for special diets or any particular likes or dislikes. Please advise us of these before your arrival.
- We are happy to refrigerate any medication. We can also keep any perishables (such as clotted cream!) in our fridge for a limited period.
- Mobile phone reception at the cottage is generally ok but in some of the surrounding area there is no signal.
