Min Y Gaer is a ten bedroom family run hotel facing due south overlooking the esplanade with a commanding view of Cardigan Bay.

Only 200 yards to the beach and a short walk to the restaurants, shops and railway station, we are ideally situated.

The hotel has fine views of Criccieth Castle and the name Min Y Gaer, when translated, means "near the fort".

The town of Criccieth is situated in the South East corner of the Lleyn Peninsula on the shores of Cardigan Bay and just outside the Snowdonia National Park. This makes it an ideal location as a base whilst touring North West Wales or to stay and enjoy the pleasant unspoilt local surroundings.

There are fine beaches in the area and Criccieth itself has two, both of which are safe for bathing. Golf enthusiasts are well served with as many as nine golf courses within reach and there are many other sporting and leisure activities locally including tennis, squash, bowls, fishing, climbing, boating, riding and archery.

A wealth of historic buildings and local attractions are within easy reach, including Criccieth Castle, the Ffestiniog Railway, Slate and Copper Mines, Harlech and Caernarfon Castles and the Italianate village at Portmeirion.
