Min Y Gaer is a ten bedroom family run hotel facing due south overlooking the esplanade with a commanding view of Cardigan Bay. Only 200 yards to the beach and a short walk to the restaurants, shops and railway station, we are ideally situated. The hotel has fine views of Criccieth Castle and the name Min Y Gaer, when translated, means "near the fort".

All our bedrooms are en suite, comfortably furnished and have colour television and tea/coffee making facilities. The dining room and residents lounge have sea views and there is a comfortable licensed bar. Full English Breakfast is included in the price of your room. Children are welcome and reduced rates are charged for children sharing their parent's room.

The town of Criccieth is situated in the South East corner of the Lleyn Peninsula on the shores of Cardigan Bay and just outside the Snowdonia National Park. This makes it an ideal location as a base whilst touring North West Wales or to stay and enjoy the pleasant unspoilt local surroundings. There are fine beaches in the area and Criccieth itself has two, both of which are safe for bathing. Golf enthusiasts are well served with as many as nine golf courses within reach and there are many other sporting and leisure activities locally including tennis, squash, bowls, fishing, climbing, boating, riding and archery. The scenery is magnificent and there are many pleasant walks and places of interest.

A wealth of historic buildings and local attractions are within easy reach, including Criccieth Castle, the Ffestiniog Railway, Slate and Copper Mines, Harlech and Caernarfon Castles and the Italianate village at Portmeirion. You'll find a friendly, warm and informal atmosphere at Min Y Gaer, but most of all we aim to provide a good standard of accommodation at a reasonable price which we believe represents value for money.

Min Y Gaer is located on the A497 Porthmadog Road, 200 yards east of the junction with the B4411 Caernarfon Road, Ample parking is available.
