Set in the shadow of Glastonbury Tor on a 16th Century farmstead on the Isle of Avalon, where the Legends of King Arthur mix with the mists of the Somerset levels, lay MapleLeaf Middlewick Holiday Cottages.
Eight comfortably restored cottages and B&B accommodation are set amidst gardens, orchards and paddocks. Spectacular views stretch across the levels, taking in Wells with its famous cathedral, to the Mendip hills beyond, where Cheddar Gorge is to be found.
This is a region famous for music and festivals, myth and legend, un-spoilt countryside and wildlife. Glastonbury itself is a unique place with unusual shops and cafes, the Abbey ruins, Chalice Well and of course the Tor. After a day of hiking, sightseeing or just communing with nature, return to the warmth of this peaceful retreat and relax in the indoor heated swimming pool. Or, how about a much appreciated pampering session with our fully qualified beauty therapist in the new treatment room? In fact, with the addition of our lovely new steam room you could call us a mini spa!
Sleeping between two and six guests, each of the comfortable cottages has major appliances in the kitchen and home from home comforts throughout, which all go to create a cosy base to enjoy a rural Somerset holiday. And for those who can't live without their laptop, all the cottages have wireless internet connection.
For large groups, the function room is available by booking well in advance. This beautiful space comfortably seats 36 for dining and is easily adapted for yoga, meditation or other group activities.
We are now pleased to offer the opportunity to take part in a Paul Bailey DetoxCleanse retreat at Middlewick, please contact us for further details.
Owned and operated by a Canadian family, the famously high level of customer service and hospitality supplied across the Atlantic continues at MapleLeaf Middlewick. This is a special place with a warm welcome which has guests returning again and again. |

Cider House (sleeps three) Cider House is a family cottage on two floors. Formed we believe from the old apple store, or possibly the press building. The downstairs comprises of kitchen/diner/lounge, a large room with high ceilings and stone fireplace with electric fire.
Upstairs the large bedroom has a double bed, single bed and space for a cot with bathroom off, containing coloured suite with bath and shower over toilet and wash hand basin. The Ceiling is heavily beamed and vaulted.
Pippin (sleeps six plus cot) Pippin and Springfield, formed from a detached derelict barn some years ago, now make two very comfortable three bedroomed cottages.
There is a stone flagged entrance hall leading to the lounge/diner off which is a very spacious kitchen.. The downstairs double bedroom has wash hand basin and separate toilet. An open tread staircase leads up to a large landing where the cot resides. Upstairs there is a single room, a triple bedroom with double and single bed and a very spacious bathroom with pretty suite comprising toilet, wash hand basin, separate shower and semi sunken bath.
Appletree Cottage (sleeps two) Appletree is a cosy cottage for two on one level with kitchen/diner and pretty lounge overlooking the courtyard. From the kitchen a short hall leads to the double bedroom and bathroom with shower, toilet and wash hand basin.
Springfield Cottage (Sleeps six plus cot) Springfield is very similar to Pippin with a stone flagged entrance hall leading to the lounge/diner, and through to a large fitted kitchen. Off the hall is a twin bedded room which has an en-suite shower room.
An open tread staircase leads to the landing where the cot resides. There is a single bedroom and a triple room with double bed and a single bed. The bathroom again is very pretty and spacious comprising of semi sunken bath, separate shower, wash hand basin and toilet.
Blenheim Cottage (sleeps three) Blenheim is a delightful cottage, formed from part of the original 350 year old farmhouse. Comprising kitchen/diner, a wonderful lounge with oak beams and magnificent inglenook fireplace (now capped).
Upstairs we have a bathroom with coloured suite, comprising of bath with shower over, wash hand basin and toilet. The single bedroom, overlooks the garden, whilst the double with its tiny original windows and old stone fireplace has far reaching views towards the Mendips.
Bramley Cottage (sleeps 2 plus cot) Bramley was also formed from part of the original 350 year farmhouse, with kitchen/diner, leading through to a large lounge. Stairs from the lounge lead to a small landing, off which is the double bedroom and bathroom containing a coloured suite, comprising of bath with shower over, toilet and wash hand basin.
Bramley and Blenheim can be interlinked via a door in the rear hall which leads to the garden making them perfect for those wishing to be together but having the option of privacy.
Russet (sleeps five plus cot) Russet, is undoubtedly a very spacious cottage. Entrance is via a porch into the living kitchen. From the kitchen through a large hall, we enter into the lounge, a big room with splendid inglenook fireplace (now capped)
Through the lounge into what was the original entrance hall of the property, are the enclosed stairs. The bathroom is big and airy containing toilet, wash hand basin, bath and separate shower. Next to the Bathroom is the double bedroom with cot. Down the landing is a single bedroom, and next to this a twin room.
Orchard View (sleeps four) Orchard View, a charming cottage all on ground floor level has access through a porch into a compact fitted kitchen.
