Ina Barton welcomes you to Manor Farm Bed and Breakfast and Flowers Barn Self Catering holiday accommodation.
David, my husband, our children Ben and Charlotte and I invite you to our traditional family farm set in 250 acres of picturesque rolling Cotswold Hills. The farm has been in my husband's family for five generations and primarily we produce high quality beef.
A wonderful site to be enjoyed is the newly born calves running free in the fields with their mothers all spring and summer long. We also grow milling wheat for bread and malting barley for beer. This is carried out in a traditional form to complement this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The land lies in an Environmental Sensitive Area (ESA) which helps to maintain and retain many original features such as Cotswold stone walling which is a significant part of the Cotswold landscape. The ESA also helps us to maintain our 6 acres of ancient woodland abundantly stocked with bluebells in the spring and also the valley bottom grasslands hosting wild orchids, one of which is totally unique to Manor Farm. The farm offers a suitable environment for wild animals including fallow and roe deer, buzzards, barn owls, badgers and brown hares.
Middle Duntisbourne, taking its name from the meaning of 'the start of a small river' can be found 4 miles North West of the Roman town of Cirencester. Comprising of only 11 Cotswold stone cottages and homes we are proud to boast that Flowers Barn is the only holiday cottage within this hamlet. Depending on your route to the farm it will be necessary to fords the River Dunt where it is not uncommon to see wild mallards and moorhens with their young and for the eagle eyed a kingfisher.
We are ideally situated for walking and cycling around the beautiful Duntisbourne and surrounding areas - we have bridle paths and footpaths running through the farm. Just down the road from us is a lovely tiny Saxon church, which is well worth visiting and is just a short walk away.

Self Catering
Flowers Barn sits directly to the right of Manor Farm and is a detached Cotswold stone Grade II listed barn conversion dating back to the 1750's.It was formerly used as stabling for 10 working horses, the family favourite known as Flower hence the property's name.
We have sympathetically converted this residence paying particular attention to the spacious high quality interior and for full appreciation of the wonderful far-reaching meadowlands views we purposely planned the living accommodation on the first floor. The open plan living room is a major feature of the barn with its exposed beams and traditional door leading down onto original stone steps.
The fitted, well appointed kitchen is situated next to the living accommodation and benefits from a dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, microwave and cooker.
On entry to Flowers Barn you are greeted by a flagstone reception hall leading to the majority of ground floor rooms and a staircase leading to the first floor living accommodation.
The master bedroom known as Prince's Stable is a double bedroom and features the original elm stable partition. The bathroom is fitted with a corner bath, toilet, sink and separate shower cubicle, and there are two further twin bedded rooms, firstly Jolly's Stable which leads you through into Poppet's Stable both of which are fitted with wardrobes and are beautifully co-ordinated.
The whole of the ground floor has all of the original fittings retained, which includes mangers and collar hangers, and will certainly not disappoint. For a cosy winter break the Barn is beautifully warmed by an independent central heating system and there is plenty of off road parking alongside the enclosed private lawned garden.
All fuel, power, linen and towels are included within the rent along with a welcome pack which includes bread, croissants, cereals, milk, tea, coffee, butter, orange juice, biscuits and home made jam.
Children are welcome and a travel cot and high chair are available on request.
Prices are from £350.00 per week Shorter and longer breaks are available on request. |
