WELCOME TO LUND FARM....
....from Chris and Helen Middleton, Becky and Lizzie, Labradors Oscar and Ring, Brodie the Minature Shetland, twelve hens, three farmyard cats and lots of sheep! |

| Convenient for historic YORK and right in the middle of England's largest county, Lund Farm is the ideal haven for either your holiday or business visit. We have 200 peaceful acres, a choice of two beautifully renovated farmyard cottages (sleeping 6 and 2), and we are always on hand to give you plenty of informed advice about how to make the most of your stay. |

We offer a safe patio, and garden with games for families with children, a sunny patio (plus wheelchair access) with the smaller cottage, and bicycles to ride around the farm if you want to stretch your legs.
For the business visitor there's a friendly welcome, peace and quiet, and fax and e-mail if you need them, and don't worry, stroking the cats is strictly optional. |

Lund Farm is 25 minutes drive from the world-famous city of YORK, with its beautiful Norman Minster and city walls, archaelogical evidence of its Viking origins, museums (including the National Railway Museum), river trips, narrow streets and "ghost walks". Even the tea-shops in York are world-famous!
SELBY, our local town, also has a wonderful Norman Church with links to the Washington family, a large traditional Monday street market, and excellent rail links all over the country, London 2 hours. There are nature reserves for bird-lovers not far away at Blacktoft sands and Fairburn Ings, and Stately homes at Lotherton Hall, Temple Newsam and Brodsworth House.
From the very centre of Yorkshire the choice of day-drives is endless. Dozens of beautiful stately homes, ancient castles and ruined abbeys, a huge variety of scenery from the Yorkshire Dales of Heriot, 'Last of the Summer Wine'and the North York Moors. |

Within reach for a day out are seaside resorts from Captain Cook's Whitby to Scarborough and Bridlington, children's animal farms, the "Eureka" children's museum and the steam railways of "Railway Children and "Heartbeat" fame. Don't forget the spa town of Harrogate and the thriving modern city of Leeds.
But you don't have to drive far. You can simply stay on the farm to relax, walk the canal bank adjoining the farm, or we can direct you to local pubs, tea-shops or woodland walks. |

LUND FARM COTTAGE (SLEEPING 6) (Tourist Board Grading 4 stars)
Lund Farm Cottage is the self-contained wing of our own farmhouse, in earlier times the horsemen's wing, built around 1780, and situated in the farmyard.
Downstairs is the large kitchen and living area (as illustrated) with feature brick wall, traditional fireside range, coal fire, old pine beams and dresser, television, washing machine, and a telephone for your private use.
Upstairs are three bedrooms; one a large double or family room with bathroom, the other a twin room with the old farmhouse bathroom, and with a further single/twin room leading off. The cottage is centrally heated throughout.
Outside is a private patio, safe, enclosed lawn and barbecue. Guests are also welcome to roam or cycle round the farm, which consists of some 200 acres. Fax and internet facilities in the farmhouse plus peace, quiet and privacy make either of our cottages an ideal location for the business or holiday visitor
We are always pleased to welcome families. We hope you'll find us child-friendly, having two girls of our own. We provide cots and high chairs if required, also a selection of bats and balls etc., and a sandpit and garden games. We have two labradors who love being taken for walks, various cats, a kitten, hens whose eggs you can collect for your breakfast, a minature Shetland ponies, and a farm pond. |

SHEPHERD'S REST (sleeping 2)
(Tourist Board Grading 4 stars, also National Accessibility Category 2)
SHEPHERD'S REST has been created by sympathetic renovation and extension in old brick of a small farm building adjoining the farmhouse.
With raised ceiling, exposed pine beams, "Belfast" sink and kitchen fittings created from reclaimed pine, the traditional cast-iron log-effect oil stove which drives the central heating gives a cosy feel to the kitchen/living room in cooler weather.
Shepherd's Rest is also suitable for an accompanied wheelchair bound guest.

Continuing the theme of raised ceiling and antique pine, the twin bedroom boasts a peaceful Southerly view through the farmyard and pasture to the woodland beyond.
Shepherd's Rest has a its own private sunny South-facing patio.
Internet facilities in the farmhouse plus peace, quiet and privacy make either of our cottages an ideal location for the business or holiday visitor. |
