Lockley Farm offers quality self-catering accommodation set in a picturesque, country setting, near Welwyn in Hertfordshire. With a choice of four properties consisting of Barn conversions and an isolated detached lodge / cottage. Each house has a current 4 Star Recommendation with the English Tourist Board / Council and are therefore maintained to a high standard. With each property sleeping a varied number of guests, there is a choice of preferred accommodation to suit each individuals needs.
The farm is a working arable farm, there is also seasonal grazing for beef cattle, with horse and chickens residing permanently.
There is approximately 2 miles of footpaths, where guests can experience picturesque and hilly countryside walks. |
With the farm location situated 3 miles by car from Welwyn North station, there is easy access to London 30mins by train, 25 miles by road via A1M.
To the north, historical Cambridge is 35 miles by car, and Oxford is within a 2 hour drive.

Lockley Farm: the Mill Farm Barn - Sleeps 5 plus cot and 1 supplement bed
This 17th Century semi-detached barn was originally situated near the civic centre in the village of Welwyn, where it was used to store coal by a local merchant.
In the early 1900's the need to establish a fire station and the development of the Welwyn bypass lead to the careful dismantling of the Barn and rebuilding it at Lockley Farm. |
In later years, the barn was used for grinding, storing corn, housing shire horses, cattle, chickens and domestic horses.
In 1999, the barn which is set in the main farmyard was restored to a high standard currently has a 4 star recommendation by the English Tourism Council / Board.
The Barn is spacious, with high sweeping ceilings, but still commands a homely feel.
There are countryside views from some upstairs windows and its interior is heavily beamed and maintains a warm, cosy and homely atmosphere.

Detached 18th century barn conversion, flint and brick construction.
Its interior is beamed throughout, maintaining a compact, cosy and homely atmosphere.
Situated in the main farmyard area there are nice views of Welwyn village and surrounding countryside. |

Lockley Farm: the Shire Barn - Sleeps 4 + Cot

Lockley Farm: the Gamekeepers Lodge - (Sleeps 6)
 | Built in 1912 in the middle of the farm as requested by the then gamekeeper. If commands good views of hilly countryside and has a secluded position with woods to the rear of the property.
In 1992, the lodge was completely refurbished to a high comfortable standard and currently has a 4 star commended recommendation by the English Tourism Council / Board. |
