Your Hosts Pat and Phil Jennings
Leworthy Farmhouse is a charming Georgian home, offering warm hospitality in elegant and relaxed surroundings. It nestles in an idyllic un-spoilt backwater, 10 miles from Bude.
Our delightful en-suite guest rooms have chintzy curtains, crisp bed linen, fluffy towels and ample toiletries. Tea trays with pretty bone china, speciality teas, chocolate and biscuits; antiques and objects d'art, extensive collection of books, poetry and glossy magazines, fresh flowers and fresh milk.
Scrumptious full English breakfast, or choose organic, creamy porridge, fresh fruit salad, prunes, organic yogurt or muesli, our breakfast menu also includes buttery fried potatoes and mushrooms, free range eggs either scrambled, poached, boiled or fried and a great selection of cereals, fruit juices, jams, honeys and marmalades.
There is an elegant dining room and a peaceful guests' lounge with nostalgic old prints, sparkling old china, old ticking clocks, comfy old sofa and soft Chinese carpets. |
Outside, you will find peaceful, spacious gardens, a wildlife haven, with visiting nuthatchers, spotted woodpeckers, jays, tits and hedgehogs. In the evenings you may enjoy drinks on the daisy-filled lawn or in the orchard, with swallows swooping overhead. Discover the tranquility of our lake, where brilliant butterflies and dragon flies still haunt the meadow. The giant carp still sun themselves in the warm shallows, yellow flag, majestic purple thistles and delicately pink ragged robin are dotted along the waterline and wet meadow. Buzzards soar above, wildfowl heron and kingfishers all visit, and wild deer frequent the nearby forest and fields.
The spectacular North Cornish coast is close. Visit beautiful Boscastle harbour with its towering cliffs, Pink Sea Thrift, brilliant blue Scabious and swathes of purple heather and yellow gorse. Visit its fascinating Witch Craft Museum.
Tintagel, with its 'King Arthur' associations, delightfully picturesque Port Isaac, and Padstow, with its gay fishing boats, yachts and interesting shops, and renowned eating places. Clovelly, Ilfracambe and Appledore are nearby also.
Lovely coastal walks and friendly market towns are within easy reach. The Eden Project on the South Cornish Coast is about 1 hour away.
You will find us at the end of a delightful country lane, with marvellous views of rolling green countryside. |
Do come and visit us we'd love to meet you! Guests are welcome to fish our lake.
