Cambridge is where the charm and elegance of university combines with hi-tech industry and commerce. The meeting of Town and Gown serve to provide the city with a unique culture, charm and atmosphere. The Helen Hotel, has become a relaxing, well-appointed sanctuary for business travellers, visitors from overseas and many college undergraduates and their parents. The building dates back to around 1850 and is situated near to the station and within a few minutes of the university.

The owners take pride in giving friendly and efficient service to all guests - and are always available to provide local information. Easy access to the M11 and M25 motorways, and the mainline railway station, mean that guests are ideally placed for business or pleasure. Air travel, to and from Cambridge airport, with its regular flights to UK and overseas destinations, is quick and easy.

The international airports of Stansted (30 minutes) and Luton (60 minutes), are nearby, whilst the new A14 dual carriageway, links both the M1 and east coast ferry ports. For those residents with the time to enjoy the attractions of the city, there are fine college buildings and architecture; museums; university Botanic Gardens; the river; Warner multi-screen cinema; theatre - and much more.

As well as offering a range of activities in and around the city, there are superb National Trust houses and gardens at Wimpole Hall and Anglesey Abbey, both within 20 minutes drive. There is also the Imperial War Museum at Duxford where historic aircraft and flying displays can be enjoyed. The hotel is under family ownership and has been subjected to a recent and tasteful programme of modernisation and enhancement.

Travellers can enjoy a high standard of service and comfort. The hotel and all 22 bedrooms are fully centrally heated. Each has private shower or bathroom, direct-dial telephone, colour satellite television and full tea and coffee making facilities. In keeping with many of our guests wishes, there are smoking and non-smoking rooms available. Particular requests should be made at the time of booking. There is a comfortable resident's lounge with wide-screen colour television and an informal bar serving fine beers and wine.
