| The Hazeldene, situated South of the town on the A19 is a detatched period house, featuring five bright, spacious en-suite rooms and a further eight spacious standard rooms. The Hazeldene also boasts a large lounge with licensed bar facilities. Our provision of a smoke free environment helps to maintain a high level of cleanliness. |
| Breakfast is served in a large comfortable dining room, with individual tables. Our location is urban residential only a five minute walk from the town centre. We have adequate private parking to the rear of the house, plus secure accommodation for cycles, and on street parking is permitted if required. Your hosts Mike and Susan Smith have recently acquired The Hazeldene. Already we have established patronage of overseas visitors, business personnel and visiting friends and family, many of which make return visits. Our guests experience a service which is always friendly and attentive, but never intrusive. So if you should come to visit we trust that your stay would be a pleasant and satisfying experience.
Selby, an ancient market town and famous for its 11th Century Norman Abbey, lies 12 miles south of York on the river Ouse. Every Monday and Saturday is market day, with the livestock market on a Friday. Frequent bus and rail services to and from Selby make York, Leeds and Hull readily accessible. The recent creation of direct rail services to London and Manchester Airport, has created new opportunities for the non-motorist traveller. Location It's now so easy to visit York from Selby, York's new Park and Ride on the A19 South of the City, is only 20 minutes away. Alternatively if you prefer a car free day, there are three buses per hour to take you to the heart of the City. Also from Selby the Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors and the East Coast are little more than an hours drive away. Within the hour are the magnificent country houses of Harewood and Castle Howard. Being only 7 miles East of the A1 and 6 miles North of Junction 34 on the M62 makes Selby a convenient ½ way stop over point between London and Edinburgh. |
| Hotel Policies Reservations - please observe that cancellation terms apply. To secure a reservation we would require a deposit of £20.00 per room by personal cheque or credit card. In the event of a cancellation within 5 days of the arival date deposits are not refundable unless the room can be re let.No shows and same day cancellations may be subject to the full rate for the first night of a stay. Any refunds are subject to a £5.00 admin charge. Check in time not before 2.00pm please. Check out time the next day is 10.00am. |
