Cornwall's forgotten Corner

Tucked amongst the narrow lanes of this quaint fishing village lies The Halfway House. This family run Inn is situated on the costal path adjacent to the Mount Edgecombe country park and just a ferry ride from the great naval city of Plymouth.

Nearby facilities include golfing, boat hire, fishing, spectacular walks, horse riding and of course swimming. Diving on the new man-made reef, the ex-navel frigate "Scylla", will be a popular pastime this season. Rough shooting party weekends can also be arranged.

The Inn was once part of the border between Devon and Cornwall and now divides the picturesque twin villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, frequent winners of the Country's Best Kept Village Award.

Every Wednesday, part of the Rame Peninsula Male Voice Choir visit the pub and sing for their supper of sausage and chips.

All are welcome at the Inn including children and dogs. Each of our rooms is en-suite and contains a colour TV, radio alarm, complimentary toiletries and a guest tray with tea, coffee and biscuits.

Somewhere special to stay

Cosy and softly lit, this attractive old inn is Victorian in style with low beamed ceilings and a huge central fire place. It is popular with locals and visitors and offers a selection of real ales, keg beers, stouts, spirits and a comprehensive wine list.

A small informal restaurant leads off the bar and, being so close to the sea we specialise in sea food, all of which is locally supplied. We offer a well balanced menu, including bar snacks, children's meals and home made puddings and have ensured that almost all of our food is sourced in Cornwall, thus maintaining a high standard of freshness and taste.
