| Hagley Bridge Farm is an idyllic location to stay, relax, walk and learn about small scale dairy production! At Hagley Bridge Farm we are passionate about quality food from countryside to plate. We are lucky enough to live in a 16th century Somerset Longhouse which nestles next to the River Tone in a hidden valley surrounded by awe inspiring Exmoor landscape. We love it here and are keen to share it with you and pass on some of our knowledge of ‘dairying small scale’. |

| A typical course begins on Friday evening with a home cooked farmhouse supper where you have an opportunity to relax and meet the rest of the group. (We don’t have a license so you can bring along your favourite tipple!). The course begins after a choice of breakfast on Saturday. Many aspects are covered throughout the day so by the end, your knowledge of this fascinating subject will have grown considerably. There will be plenty of opportunity for questions about equipment, techniques, problems you may have experienced and simple ways of setting up your own production. Saturday evening you are free to make your own arrangements. We can recommend numerous local pubs and restaurants. The course continues after breakfast on Sunday followed by Sunday lunch to set you up for your journey home. The course is intended to be relaxed yet informative and we hope a lot of fun! Numbers are restricted to a maximum of eight, allowing for a degree of flexibility and attention to individual needs. Our aim is for you to be as hands on as possible with the emphasis on practical rather than technical or theoretical. With twenty years experience in milk production to draw on we believe you will return home with the knowledge and confidence to produce your own mile and turn it into a variety of daily products for you and your family to enjoy. Also everything you make on the course you will take home with you. The course is aimed at people wishing to get the most from their own milk production with some knowledge of dairying but can easily be applied to the absolute beginner. It is possible to create a wide range of delicious and interesting dairy products from supermarket milk. Many of our guests regard the course as an excellent opportunity for a short break in the country with an entertaining activity laid on! |

| Having a fantastic landscape on your doorstep provides excellent opportunities for walking. We are surrounded by inspiring countryside - the Quantocks, Brendon and Blackdown Hills and of course Exmoor itself. The area is renowned for its wildlife; Red Deer, Otters, Badgers, a huge variety of birds and the indigenous Exmoor ponies. There is a choice of established waymarked routes including The West Deane Way, the inspirational Coleridge Way and the start of the South West Coastal Path is just ten miles away. We cater for all levels from full day hikes over Exmoor hills to a gentle stroll along the Great Western Canal tow path. We can provide maps, information, packed lunches, transport your luggage and pick you up at the end of your walk just in time for your farmhouse supper! Whatever your interest – walking, clay pigeon shooting, making cheese or a relaxing retreat from a busy lifestyle we look forward to welcoming you to our farm and home. |
