Welcome to Griffin Guest House
A newly refurbished Guest House in the heart of Brighton’s Kemptown. The Griffin Guest House is a few yards from St. James St. and also just off the seafront and within two minutes walk of the Palace Pier. It has been recently thoroughly renovated. Lodged in a charming building dating from 1760, the hotel has nine rooms, each with its own en suite Whirlpool bath or shower.
The Griffin is a “Themed Hotel” we have themed our rooms as - - - Bedrooms! Those visitors seeking the traditional Brighton weekend away to party and shop will find themselves well accommodated; those, on the other hand, who want a romantic weekend may opt for one of the Whirlpool Bath Rooms.
Many of the bedrooms feature Kashmiri hand-sewn Wall Hanging Rugs, some of these are based on the artist Miro’s works, others are geometric, one depicts beautiful butterflies. Enjoy a fair-trade coffee or tea in our terrace conservatory at anytime during your stay, we also provide breakfast here in the mornings. Wifi access is available free of charge for our guests.
Breakfast will be served in the conservatory or terrace (weather permitting), from 08.00-10.00 weekdays and 09.00-11.00 during the weekends. Please click here for an example of our menu
Check in is from 14.00, however, we can hold your bags for you if you need to arrive earlier, check out is 12.00, again, we can hold your bags for you if you just have to go back to the Lanes to buy those shoes! |

Room 1
A single room, with a single bed at the quiet rear of the building featuring a hand sewn Kashmiri Wall Hanging. LCD flat screen television with integrated freeview and DVD This room has an en suite shower and WC.
Room 2 – The West Wing
A standard double on the quiet rear of the building. This room together with room 3 forms a self-contained wing. It can be rented together with room 3 (a single) either as a self-contained suite or for a group of 3. Featuring a hand sewn Kashmiri Wall Hanging, an LCD flat screen television and a DVD/CD player. This room has a separate private shower and WC.
Room 3 – The West Wing
A standard single which may be rented together with room 2 (a double) to form a suite, or to accommodate 3 people in a self-contained wing of the hotel in the quiet rear of the building. At present this room is not available separately. Featuring a hand sewn Kashmiri Wall Hanging, a television and a DVD/CD player.
Room 4
A luxury double with a superb four- poster bed at the front of the building. The room has a charming Regency balcony offering oblique views of the bustle of St. James Street on the one side and the sea on the other. The room features a Whirlpool bath in the room and en suite WC, LCD TV and DVD player.
Room 5 - Triple
A triple room with a double and a single bed, an en suite shower, and WC, LCD TV and DVD player. Featuring a hand sewn Kashmiri Wall Hanging, an LCD flat screen television and a DVD/CD player. |
Room 6
A luxury room at the front of the house with oblique sea views, featuring a very large superior walk-in shower and a four poster bed. The walls are hung with hand-painted silk wall hangings that are based on the wallpaper in the music room of the Brighton Pavilion. This room also has an LCD flat screen television and a DVD/CD player.
Room 7
A standard double at the quiet rear of the building. Featuring a hand sewn Kashmiri Wall Hanging showing butterflies, an LCD flat screen television and a DVD/CD player, an en suite shower and WC.
Room 8
A luxury room at the front of the house with oblique sea-views, high ceiling to the roof, a double-ended Whirlpool bath, and a king-sized sleigh bed. Fine furniture and, of course, LCD TV and DVD player.
Room 9
A standard double at the quiet rear of the building. This room has views over the rooftops of Kemptown down towards the Stein, an en suite shower and WC, LCD TV and DVD player. |
