Welcome to Gray's Farmhouse!
Chosen by “Country Living” for its first ever selection of favourite Rural Retreats, Gray's Farmhouse has since featured in the“Sunday Telegraph” travel section and in “Dorset Magazine”, as well as appearing in Alastair Sawday’s prestigious “Special Places to Stay”.
"Has to be one of the best B&Bs we have stayed at."
Gray's Farmhouse B&B is set in a maze of paths through ancient woodland and wildflower meadows, utterly peaceful, yet within easy reach of Bridport and the West Dorset Coast. The farmhouse has stripped floors, massive flagstones, old oak beams, and in winter a blazing log fire welcomes you in the lovely dining room, a converted apple store, that looks down to a stream. Throughout the house the walls, painted in National Trust or hand-blended colours, are hung with Rosie's vibrant paintings, many of which are for sale.

Breakfast includes fresh fruit juices, fruit, fruit compote and yoghourts, home-made bread & preserves, and English Breakfast using produce from the local farm shops. We sometimes serve breakfast in the conservatory.

On fine days guests are welcomed on arrival with tea and cake in the garden, weather and time of day permitting: there is a choice of sitting areas on the guest lawns near the house, perfect for unwinding after the journey!

The light, airy bedrooms are deeply peaceful and have "en suite" bath or shower rooms. There are TV and easy chairs in each room, trays with tea-making things, and water from our own spring that recent guests described as "ambrosia."

Magazines, books, maps, fresh flowers and copious information are provided in an informal manner to help guests to feel as relaxed and truly welcomed as if they were visiting old friends.

As well as the two bedrooms in the house there is an annex across the courtyard which offers privacy, its own sitting areas and parking just outside, and views across a field. We are always pleased when guests explore the grounds, since we think they are what make Gray's Farmhouse special!

Gray's Farm adjoins 2 nature reserves, 3 SSSIs, and the estates of Mapperton Manor and Wytherston, all criss-crossed by a network of footpaths that include the near by Jubilee Trail and the Wessex Rideway. We love advising guests on our favourite walks from home, whether just a short rural circuit or a day out on Eggardon Hill or to Mapperton Manor, near Beaminster, with its magnificent Italianate water gardens nestling into the surrounding countryside.
Within easy reach is the magnificent World Heritage coastline, with a choice of beaches due south. Slightly further afield, Abbotsbury to the east and the Golden Cap to the west are a little over half an hour’s drive.
Gray’s Farmhouse, just north of Bridport, is centrally placed for exploring West Dorset.
