Gairloch Highland Lodge is a welcome alternative for people seeking a more relaxed style of accommodation.![]() Set against a spectacular mountain backdrop, and looking out over the harbour to the Isle of Skye and beyond, Gairloch Highland Lodge makes the perfect base from which to explore and enjoy the dramatic landscape and varied attractions of Wester Ross. Whether taking to the mountains or driving the Coastal Trail, teeing-off on the local golf course or casting a fly on a nearby hill loch - or simply relaxing in the warmth of traditional Highland hospitality - you will find Gairloch Highland Lodge your ideal 'home from home'. What makes the Gairloch Highland Lodge refreshingly different is its blend of friendliness and informality. For younger families, perhaps visiting Scotland's West Coast for the first time, our caring staff will help ensure that they make the most of their stay with us, whilst more seasoned visitors will find our relaxed atmosphere and homely surroundings the perfect complement to their holiday experience. Above all, at Gairloch Highland Lodge we aim to combine the highest standards of comfort and service with exceptional value for money. As an example, guests are free to 'plug in' their lap-tops in each bedroom for immediate internet access, and can use their mobile telephones anywhere in the hotel, leaving their room direct dial service for occasions when perhaps their own network has poor reception. ![]() ![]() Here at Gairloch Highland Lodge we do not serve lunch or dinner. However, our guests have the advantage of being only a 5 minute walk away from our sister hotel the award winning, The Old Inn. Providing all-day dining throughout the season, The Old Inn specializes in local seafood and game and was recently voted AA Best Seafood Pub of the Year for Scotland 2005/2006. For those guests wishing to dine at The Old Inn, we offer a discount off any food taken there. LIVELY BAR ~ LIVE MUSIC After a day in the fresh air, what better way to relax than in front of a roaring log fire in our Presidents Lounge! Offering a range of beers and largers, plus a wide selection of soft drinks, wines and spirits, naturally including blended and single malt whiskies. ![]() A VENUE FOR ALL OCCASIONS A HIGHLAND GATHERING The combination of its stunning location, superb facilities and ease of access makes Gairloch Highland Lodge the ideal venue for a wide range of business and social events. And what more perfect a setting could there be for a traditional Highland wedding! Why not take over the whole hotel for that special family gathering. Spend quality time with family and friends in a home from home atmosphere. ![]() FIRST CLASS ACCOMMODATION At Gairloch Highland Lodge, value for money has not been achieved at the expense of quality. Nowhere is this better illustrated than in our bedrooms, all of which have full en-suite facilities, radio and colour TV, telephone, hairdryers, trouser press, controllable central heating, baby listening and hospitality tray. In addition to our standard rooms, we also have family rooms, as well as a king-size four-poster and queen-size bedrooms. We also have a ground-floor bedroom fully equipped for disabled occupancy. For a nominal supplement, (not applicable to guide-dogs) guests are welcome to have their dogs with them in any of our bedrooms. ![]() ![]() This historic village of Gairloch, with its thriving fishing port and harbour, is ideally placed for visitors to make the most of all that Wester Ross has to offer. As well as a 9-hole Highland 'Gem' course, leisure centre, swimming pool, museum, shops, a Post Office and bank, Gairloch has a Tourist Information Centre. Inverewe Gardens, in nearby Poolewe, with its 50 acres of exotic plants and woodland, is a real must for garden lovers. Ben Eighe (pronounced ay-a) National Nature Reserve, the first of its kind in Britain, has forest and mountain walks and is home to red deer, pine martens and golden eagles. Flowerdale, just a short walk from, and adjacent to The Old Inn, offers a pleasant stroll past Flowerdale House, the seat of the Clan Mackenzie, to waterfalls at the head of the glen. For those looking for more challenging trails, the surrounding hills are a walker's paradise - but we do urge guests to tell us where they are going and what time they expect to be back. There is abundant brown trout and salmon fishing in the sea, including the rivers Kerry and Ewe. Permits for those are available from our reception staff who can also arrange tackle hire, tuition and ghillie service. Whether you want to go pony-trekking or mountain biking, sailing or canoeing, sea angling or bird-watching, we can help you make the most of your stay with us. A 'must do' attraction for many visitors to Gairloch is whale-watching. Weather permitting, daily trips are made throughout the season, giving you the chance to see the whales, dolphins and basking sharks that inhabit The Minch. With so much to see and do, one stay at Gairloch Highland Lodge simply won't be enough! |
