Franklin View is a very comfortable and elegant and individual town house that has been renovated to retain many period features such as the Gothic style windows. Only a short walk and you have a choice of many international restaurants and cafe bars, we would be happy to recommend.
The house is located close to the centre of Harrogate with its famous Turkish Baths, international restaurants, café bars and in close proximity to the Harrogate International Conference Centre. Despite its central location the house has secure off-street parking to the front and rear and lovely gardens which recently won a silver gilt award in the Harrogate in Bloom competition. |  |
Jennifer and Allan Mackay have over twenty five years experience of making guests welcome. Their business started in Scotland in 1982, moved to Darlington in 1990 and since 1996 they have been based at Franklin View in Harrogate. Each guesthouse they have operated has been an old house carefully renovated and refurbished to the highest standards
Franklin View was awarded a Visit Britain Quality in Tourism 4 Diamond Silver Award in 1999 and has successfully retained this grading after annual, unannounced inspection visits. All rooms in the house have been tastefully decorated and enjoy relaxing garden views. Each room has modern en-suite facilities, colour television, a hair dryer and tea/coffee making facilities. Guests also have use of a fridge, trouser press and an iron and ironing board are always available for "pressing" problems.
There is a wide variety of breakfast options including vegetarian and special dietary requirements can be catered for. All food is freshly prepared and served in a quiet and elegant dining room overlooking the rear garden. In line with its quiet, elegant ambience and for the benefit of all guests Franklin View maintains a strictly no smoking policy. |  |
Franklin View has earned an excellent reputation for high standards and quality of it's bedrooms. Each of the rooms has an individual character and is beautifully furnished and decorated in keeping with the rest of the house.
Macdui is a tranquil, relaxing room overlooking the walled garden at the rear of the house.
Cairngorm is a lovely peaceful room freshly decorated in warm colours with quality fixtures and fittings for your comfort.
Nevis is a bright & spacious room. Relax by the window seating and take in the South facing views to the rockery gardens below.

When guests make a booking they anticipate that the room will be held for them. For this reason, most Hotels/Guest Houses expect guests to confirm the booking and secure the accommodation with a deposit or credit card number. As a result, cancellation of accommodation may result in the guest being charged, as by cancelling, the guest is in breach of contract. We will make every attempt to re-let the accommodation, but in the event that this is not possible, we reserve the right to make a charge at our discretion, as follows:
- All deposits are non-refundable and we normally ask for the value of the first nights accommodation.
- Cancellation within 7 days of the arrival date is liable to a charge of 80% the full cost of the booking.
- Cancellation within 21 days of the arrival date is liable to a charge of 50% of the full cost of the booking.
Hopefully you will not need to cancel your trip but you can insure against cancellation costs if circumstances force you to cancel your trip. The Yorkshire Tourist Board has arranged preferential rates and we can provide further details if required. |
