| Tarporley grew up in the 17th and 18th centuries as a coaching stop on the main London to Liverpool road and the old milestone can be seen in the high street. It now boasts a wide range of shopping and leisure facilities including designer clothes, shops, beauty and hairdressing salons. In addition on the doorstep are located top class golf courses, Oulton Park motor racing circuit, ancient castles, riding stables, Beeston Market, Stapeley Water Gardens and many other places of interest - there is even a candle factory a few miles away. Geographically, Tarporley is situated centrally for commuting to the north or south of the country, the M6 and M56 motorways are a short drive away. The market town of Nantwich and the historic walled city of Chester are only 10 miles away and two main railway stations are located at Chester and Crewe.
