Pass between the pillars of our entrance, down the drive where horse drawn conveyances used to sweep and let us welcome you to the Epchris Hotel. Set in two acres of terraced grounds, overlooking the lovely wilder valley and Illfracombe beyond.

The Oldest buildings on the Torrs, Epchris Hotel, offer the comfortable charm and intimate atmosphere of a large, former country residence. Have a drink in the cosy bar; or sink into one of the comfortable settees in the residents lounge after an energetic day's sightseeing and watch TV. Alternatively a short stroll away is the new Landmark Theatre, the sea front and harbour areas offering much to see and enjoy.

All but two of our bedrooms offer en-suite bath or shower-rooms. All have colour TV, telephone and tea making facilities and one is on the ground floor.

In the grounds, tucked into discreet sunny corners are our superb outdoor heated swimming pool and paddling pool (available end of May to mid September) a putting green and a play area. The games chalet provides a glorious, rustic, rumpus room for the young and young at heart, with table tennis, table football and even a small pool and snooker table. There are plenty of sheltered corners for sunbathing. In fact, you can leave the car in our car park and not need to use it again until you go home, relaxing on the premises or exploring the many attractions of Illfracombe.

The area is perfect for walking and touring, boasting magnificent scenery, not least Exmoor, and the great surfing beaches at Woolacombe and Saunton Sands. The stunning, National Trust coastal Torrs Walks commence almost on our doorstep. And if this is not enough, why not try local shooting, fishing trips, golf, and horse riding, sailing or visiting one of the many indoor and outdoor attractions in North Devon.

Directions: From M5 and A361, through Barnstaple, drive into Illfracombe, turn left at the first traffic lights towards the sea, left at the second traffic lights, then left again into Torrs Park.
