Efford Cottage, Lymington

Patricia & Andrew welcome guests to their delightful home, which is a large and spacious Georgian cottage, with history dating back to the eighteen century. Efford Cottage is situated on the edge of the beautiful New Forest, with ample private parking.

Efford Cottage is an excellent establishment offering a warm welcome and friendly atmosphere. Many accoloades have been awarded to this bed & breakfast over the years including ETC Regional England for Excellence & Gold Award, Warm Welcome & Sparkling Diamonds from RAC, Pie & Egg Cup from AA, Which Hotel Guide, Michelin and the Farmhouse diploma.







The cottage is in the village of Everton, approximately two miles west of Lymington on the A337 and only one and a half miles, by road, from the sea. The location is an excellent one as a centre for touring, being within easy reach of Beaulieu, Bournemouth and Southampton. Salisbury with its famous cathedral, Stonehenge, Wilton House and Longleat, Portsmouth and its dockyard (with Mary Rose, HMS Victory and HMS Warrior) are all within a short drive, Winchester, the centre of the King Arthur, is only a short distance away. Sports, coarsefishing, sea fishing, horse riding and bird watching are all locally available.

Guests enjoy high class, luxury accommodation in large, delightful and exceptionally well-equipped bedrooms. Relax in their charming dining room in an air of timlessness and well-being.

There are many excellent restaurants, inns and eating-houses in the Lymington area, providing both English and International foods. We are also within walking distance of our local inn, which has gained an outstanding reputation for extremely good food.

There are several taxi services in the area, which provide an efficient and economical service, when needed. We are also on a main bus route, which will easily transport you to a main rail station.

On check in day guests are made welcome between 4:30 and 6:00 pm, unless other arrangements have been made.





All of our rooms are large and are en-suite, with shower, washbasin and toilet. All rooms are centrally heated (with adjustable controls) and are equipped with refridgerator, beverage facilities, pay phone, hairdryer, colour television/video, radio alarm, trouser press, & electric blankets for those needing that extra warmth at night.

We offer all our guests a multi choice breakfast menu, which is complimented with homemade bread and preserves. We wish to cater for all tastes including vegetarians and vegans, and those with special dietary requirements, can be easily accommodated.

Patricia is a qualified chef with over 30 years experience in catering. She also holds City and Guilds certificate in Hotel and Housekeeping. Your comfort is our concern.

A non-refundable/non-transferrable deposit, which should cover the first night's accommodation is required to confirm any reservation. For reservations made outside of the United Kingdom, we usually request a Traveller's cheque in sterling. Please check when booking.
Settlement of the balance is payable on arrival.

At certain times during the year a 5% discount is available for a seven day bed and breakfast booking. Packages and discounts may be available. Please check when making a reservation.

We regret that we have no single rooms at Efford Cottage. However, special rates are available out of season.
