Dawn and Allan Pickwell are waiting to welcome you to The Downs Guest House. We are a small and friendly establishment where we have created a relaxed environment with homely comforts.Our guest House is situated in a very quiet town centre location and it is therefore ideal, whatever your mission. ACCOMMODATION
The 3 Diamond sign refers to the rating our Guest House has been awarded by the English Tourist Board. Courses have also been completed and certificates awarded for Welcome Host and Food Hygiene. A fire certificate is also available to view.
Our Accommodation Comprises of: 2 Double Rooms: £32.00 - £35.00 per room
3 Twin Rooms: £32.00 - £35.00 per room
3 Single Rooms: £24.00 - £25.00 per room
A full English breakfast is included in the price, although those of you who have vegetarian preferences will be fed and watered to your requirements.
Negotiable discounts may apply for long term guests.
In conjunction with our brother hotel 'The Larchwood', situated nearby, larger parties can be catered for. |
 
FACILITIES
Tea and coffee making facilities are available. All bedrooms have cable television. A guest's payphone is provided in the reception area and fax and internet use is available on request.. Ironing facilities, hairdryers and alarm clocks can also be provided. We have pleasant gardens to sit in and pets are welcome by arrangement.. Smoking is permitted in the bedrooms but not in the public areas.
We would be happy to serve you an evening meal, given prior notice. Let us know your favourites and we will do our best. You may bring home takeaway meals, if that is your preference.
We have secured parking on request, otherwise there are local car parks and roadside parking. |

There are plenty of restaurants and takeaway establishments all within 2 minutes walk. French, Chinese, Indian or Italian and even a Real Ale Pub. Discos and Nightclubs, and there are several to choose from, are all within 5 minutes walk. |
DIRECTIONS
From Junction 3 of M180
Follow M181 to the roundabout and turn right onto the A18
At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit to Doncaster Road - signed town centre
At 2nd set of traffic lights turn right onto Deyne Avenue (Lidl supermarket is on your left at this junction)
Follow on to the end of Deyne Avenue - a cul-de-sac, we are the last premises on the left
From Junction 4 M180
At the roundabout of junction 4 follow signs for the A18
At the next roundabout turn left onto the A18 and continue straight along the dual carriageway with the lovely steelworks on your right.
At the next roundabout go straight ahead A18
Continue straight ahead at all traffic lights
At the next roundabout turn right onto Oswald Road
Continue straight ahead at the next roundabout
At the 2nd set of traffic lights turn left.
Turn left into Deyne Avenue. We are at the end of the cul-de-sac on the left hand side. |
