Whilst twenty miles to the east lie Torbay, Brixham and the River Dart. With ancient towns Totnes, Kingsbridge and Dartmouth, and all the delightful South Hams villages to explore. Add the coastal path, South Devon coves and beaches, our river fishing or just mucking about with a boat!

From the rugged Tors and desolate moorland a little way to the north, and a stop at that lovely old 'stannery' town Tavistock and see the young river Dart at Huccaby Bridge then to explore a little further afield, many guests have found it a comfortable journey to visit The Eden project and the most excellent Lost Gardens of Heligan.
