Cornhill House Hotel
Cornhill House hotel stands in its own grounds of some ten acres overlooking the upper reaches of the river Clyde close to the historic town of Biggar.
From its opening in August 1998 the hotel has earned an excellent reputation for its services and facilities which now extend to include the recently completed Ballroom Wing. Restoration of the main house has recreated its original elegance. |  |

Each room is tastefully decorated and elegantly furnished. All room are en-suite with bath tub and separate shower, toiletries, trouser press, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, direct dial telephone . TV and radio. Each room has a small fridge with complementary refreshments. All nine bedrooms are on the first floor and five of these can be accessed directly from the passenger lift.

Dining at Cornhill
Cornhill House has two dining rooms, the Bistro and Jade restaurants both of which share the same menu. The Bistro is a large bright room which affords a spectacular outlook towards the River Clyde and Tinto Hill. The Jade restaurant is a smaller room with a more intimate atmosphere and features a coal fire. This room is occasionally used to accommodate private dinner parties. The ambience in both rooms is relaxed and informal, the perfect environment in which to enjoy your choice from our extensive menus. |
Weddings
Cornhill House enjoys a perfect countryside location. It occupies an elevated position overlooking the upper River Clyde against the dramatic backdrop of Tinto Hill. Although its setting is rural, an excellent road infrastructure provides easy access to the cities of Edinburgh, 26miles and Glasgow, 32 miles. As a Wedding Venue the new suite offers all round excellence in terms of style, ambience, facilities and space. |

Exploring the Local Area
Biggar is a picturesque country town which stands on the A702 trunk road connecting the city of Edinburgh with the M74 main England / Scotland motorway.
Its long, colourful and often turbulent past has provided a legacy of many sites of historical interests, several museums and other leisure attractions based on bygone times. Among these are: Gladstone Court, Albion Museum, The John Buchanan Centre, Biggar Gasworks Museum, New Lanark Heritage Centre, Traquair House. It is also of note that the Kames Golf course is nearby and there is fishing in the River Clyde. Permits can be obtained by arrangement. |
