Visiting Goole.....

The largest town in the Borough of Boothferry, Goole has a long and distinguished history as the most inland port on the east coast of the British Isles.

Whether you visit to this area is for business or for pleasure, you won't have any problems as far as travel is concerned.

The town not only has excellent motorway connections, but is also situated in an area known as the "Gateway to Europe" - being close to the port of Hull with its importan North Sea Ferries terminals.

It is also well worth heading eastwards to Hull to take in the breathtaking spectacle of the Humber Bridge - reputed to be the worlds longest single span construction.

And, don't forget, when you visit Goole you're in easy striking distance of some of the most picturesque countryside in the entire North Of England.

The history of this region stretches back a long way and covers many aspects from land reclamation, industrial and maritime developments, all the way back to the Viking invasion.

Tourism is now a major aspect, just as important as local industry. Close by are Howden, with its impressive Minster, and Epworth, the home of the Wesleys. There is also a RSPB Bird Sanctuary within half an hours drive from Goole.

More locally, you can enjoy golf at Boothferry Golf Club or indulge in health conscious pursuits such a swimming, squash or "working out" at Boothferry's superbly equipped Leisure Centre.

Further afield there is the Museum of Army Transport at Beverley and the internationally famous city of York which attracts visitors from all over the world.

But these are just a few of the many places of interest in Boothferry. When you arrive at the Clifton Hotel, its not the end of your journey, it's just the beginning....
