The Burlington has 15 bedrooms, all with tea and coffee making facilities, many have sea-views and are en suite, colour T.V. is available in all rooms. A comfortable family hotel, the Burlington provides the ideal base for those seeking the traditional seaside holiday and also for the more outgoing.
The Burlington is an attractive stone building, constructed in the reign of Queen Victoria as a gentleman's residence. It stands in it's own grounds overlooking the sea and Keats Green. Our situation, alongside the famous Shanklin Chine, places us just a matter of yards from the cliff path to the beach and two minutes walk from the old village.
The guest house is run under the personal supervision of the resident proprietors who are always near at hand to take an interest in the well being of their guests.

Situated on the South East coast of the Isle of Wight and enjoying one of the highest levels of recorded hours of sunshine in the south of England, Shanklin is a delightful blend of the olde worlde and a modern sea side resort.
Shanklin is famous for it's chine, which has been in the Popham family since 1705, it's picturesque old village and it's association with the poet Keats.
Shanklin is well situated for touring the Island and it's many places of interest including:

How to find us
From Fishbourne
Follow the A3055 all the way to Shanklin. At the five-way set of traffic lights as you enter Shanklin, take the second turning on the left sign-posted Cliff Lift and Ventnor, this is Queens Road. Follow this road to the end. The Burlington is on the right hand side at the end of the road. Turn right and right again for the car park entrance.
From Cowes
Drive out of Cowes and follow the signs for Newport. At Newport you come to a large traffic light controlled roundabout, go straight on following signs for Sandown and Shanklin. At the next roundabout, with B&Q on the right, go straight on again. Take the second turning on the right. Continue on this road to Shanklin. At the end of this road in Shanklin is a set of traffic lights. Turn left then immediate right. In front of you is Shanklin Theatre, turn left and follow to the end. Turn right and The Burlington is set at the end of the road on the left-hand side.
From Ryde (By Train)
At the FastCat terminal catch the train and ride all the way to Shanklin. This is the end of the line. From the station walk all the way along the road leading directly away, this goes through Shanklin town centre. At the end cross over and go straight on, turn left at the end and then first right. The Burlington is at the end of the road on the left-hand side. |
