Dating from around the 13th Century The Bridge House, with its beautiful walled garden, sits in the heart of Beaminster - one of the most perfectly sited of all Dorset towns. The warm stone, beams and large fireplaces span the centuries with effortless ease; the modern comforts of a country home provide every convenience.

Privately owned and run, the Bridge House has 13 bedrooms all with luxury bathrooms, the finest Eqyptian linen by Frette, flat screen tvs, tea and coffee making facilities and direct dial, digital telephones. An internet 'hotspot' is also available. |
"From the log fires crackling in the centuries old inglenooks to the candle-lit del paneled Georgian dining room, our objective has been, from the very beginning, to create a comfortable, stylish, country home of a hotel." says owner Mark.

Books by Thomas Hardy and baskets of fresh flowers nestle in the corners of this thirteenth century priest's house, providing a natural backdrop to the well-being of every one of its guests. Character has not been sacrificed for comfort - though comfort there is in plenty. |

'At the heart of the Bridge House is the food in its Rosette rated restaurant which enjoys a well deserved local reputation. Whether taking a light lunch in the conservatory, the hotel's beautiful walled garden or having dinner in the stunning Georgian panelled restaurant, the Bridge House has earned its reputation by creatively combining three of the basics to excellent effect - simplicity, fine, local and organic materials and a rare attention to detail. The food is both stylish and inexpensive. Pub grub it's not! |
In the last year, new owners Mark & Joanna have begun a gentle refurbishment of the bedrooms including a new honeymoon suite complete with king size, four poster. Small, exclusive weddings are also now possible with the acquisition of a licence to stage civil weddings.

For all the Bridge House' visitors, the old market town of Beaminster is perfectly placed for touring, walking and exploring the magnificent West Dorset countryside including the spectacular World Heritage site - the Jurassic coast just five miles away. There are many places of interest and fine houses and gardens within easy reach by car, as well as several golf courses, fresh and salt water fishing, horse-riding, sailing, sea bathing....and even llama trekking! |
